17. Combo time! As of 1960, both the American League and the National League had eight teams. Name one of the eight from EACH league. Either their current name or the name they went by at the time count and will be counted the same.

No surprise here, the lowest number of points given out on any question. I used the current names just so I could score them as a group, so some of you who said Senators might see it as Twins on here.

[quote="BobF"]18. Roger Craig trivia. Turns out, before there was the Jeopardy! champion named Roger Craig, if you had mentioned his name, people would have thought of the baseball pitcher. He has been employed by 10 major league baseball teams: 5 as pitcher, two as manager, three as pitching coach. Name one of these teams.

I have to admit I misread Craig's Wikipedia page as there are only 9 correct answers here. He served as both pitching coach and manager of the Padres.

20. We're due for a new stadium. Name one of the 10 major league team who is playing in a stadium that was open before the Rockies and Marlins started playing in 1993.

I used http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ma ... l_stadiums as my source and also double-checked at baseball-reference.com

Wrong answers: 14 points
Reds - perwinkle's child - Their ballpark opened in 2003

Yes, thank you for the re-score and wow, I even get a new title.

I'm not a Yankees fan, but picking the right year (1949) out of many options and going with Elston Howard helped a lot. The only other answer I had that may have gone beyond normal depth for a casual baseball fan was Steve Busby. It was a big deal when I started following baseball and collecting cards.

Jeff, ouch tough break. You had me. Lilac's post-win post is pretty funny now after the fact.

Well darn, when I saw that the winner was going to removed, and I had previously finished second, I figured I had a good chance to win this. But nope, the offending accounts must have favored MarkBarrett's answers a lot more than they favored mine. Below are the top 9 remaining players with their original final scores, followed by the same players with their revised scores, and the amount by which they dropped. Mark and hbomb got big drops, while Paucle and I got just slight ones. waterloo_guy somehow managed to only drop a single point, meaning over 20 questions, just one time did one of the 4 cheating accounts match one of his answers, dropping him from 4th place to 9th. Interesting

Thanks for the condolences, but I deserved to lose the second time around as well after fouling up the ballpark question. Had the victory in my grasp, and let it slip away. Congrats on the win.

Well this got me curious, so I did some digging on the other TD's. I'll post the results in the cheating thread. But it seems there wasn't any foul play going on, guess he just got lucky.

Interesting

MarkBarrett 76.5

I wasn't meaning to imply there was anything shady going on, just pointing out that some players fell really far to one extreme or the other as far as duplication of answers with these particular accounts. If Waterloo guy is reading this, please except my apology if any offense was taken.
