Daily Doubles:
Sabreena: 750+1000
Joe: 6500+3500 & 10500+5000

I realize boxing may not be the strength of players on this show, but this stumper kayoed me.

INITIAL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPS $2000: G.T. (1926-28)

The FJ! was just as much a gimme for me as the one last week with home field advantage even though the earlier event took place in NY before I was born. I figured at least one player would add the letter "p" although I did not anticipate 2 misses going with that sole solve.

Still no word any kind of championship to end the season. Wins then points? Highest points total only? Highest one-day total like S1? Other? None?

Man, I thought Joe had it when he wrote his answer so quickly. I am a lifelong Cardinal fan too, but my goodness, the Shot Heard Round the World is one of the most iconic sports moments of all time. I can tell you who was pitching (Ralph Branca), his jersey number (13), who was on deck (Willie Mays), even who was stealing signs from a hidden center field vantage point (Sal Yvars). Of course Russ Hodges made the famous radio call, but also in the booth were two other Hall of Famers - Red Barber and Ernie Harwell. Vin Scully was at the game but not broadcasting.

One of my most prized sports possessions is a baseball autographed by the 1951 NY Giants that was given to my dad by a business associate of my grandfather. I hope to have a chance to talk about it if I am ever cast on SJ.

How can someone pass the contestant test without knowing a complete softball like this? There just aren't that many game winning home runs of that stature.

1951 - Bobby Thomson
1960 - Bill Mazerowski
1975 - Carlton Fisk
1988 - Kirk Gibson
1993 - Joe Carter

How about that Strat-O-Matic stumper? Usually the baseball material is handled fairly well on the show.

I'd like to know this, too. I honestly wasn't a fan of their formatting the first time around (I would have preferred some big tournament or something), but now with even more unanswered questions and confusion, I am losing even more interest in this show.

You can go real old school with Gabby Hartnett.

I pre-called the game for FJ and expected it to be going for Mays, but Thomson (I spelled it right) was an instaget and would have had Branca as well. I own a picture of the homer signed by Thomson and Branca.

A boxing expert (or just someone fairly knowledgeable about boxing) would have cleaned up the first two games.

Mike Schmidt was a bottom row clue, given "Phillies" and "played in the 70s"? Give me a freaking break.
