Alex made a comment about how Julissa would be the new champion if she only completed her answer; but she could've been if she only bet the required $2001.
Not sure what you're trying to say here.

Re: Thursday, September 24, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Poll request on the Streep clue. I think "even LSV missed it" is a pretty good gauge of a clue's value being off base. I could smell this coming a mile away. Noted. She was the most famous actress in the category but it's definitely one of her less famous films, Oscar nomination notwithstanding. I'...

Re: Thursday, September 24, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I missed the Rhine river question because the clue stated that it flowed into Lake Constance but in reality Lake Constance is the source and it flows into the North Sea. Hmm, interesting, reading on wikipedia it seems a bit confusing but it appears the Rhine flows into Lake Constance, then out of L...

Re: Wednesday, September 23, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I was a little surprised that they didn't BMS for "Tampa Bay" as a team. There was a team name ("Patriots"), not a city, state, or region name, referenced in the clue. There are three professional "Tampa Bay" teams in the Big Four ("Bucks"/Buccaneers, "Bolts"/Lightning, and Rays), and the name of t...

Re: 2020 Current Events Study Guide

In addition to the series winning all seven awards possible last night, Dan Levy became the first person to win in four separate disciplines (producing, directing, writing, and acting) in the same year. And there have been a few chances at that in recent years, (at least) Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Bill...

There were two Jameses? Yep. Also two Judases but for some reason they didn't BMS Judas. It's strange that people don't seem to name their kids Judas lately. I've cribbed the paragraph below from everything-birthday.com (here's the link if you want to see for yourself). I apologize for its poor pun...

Re: Friday, September 18, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Surprised to see no complaints over the Air Force clue. It wasn’t 1760 PlayStations, it was 1760 PlayStation 3s. I was wavering based on the date given if this would be PS2 or PS3 and might not have buzzed if I was on the stage. Felt like the response of PlayStation should’ve been negged or at least...

Re: Tuesday, September 15, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I think the Berry/Barry pronunciation discussion is moot, not only because the official statement on the matter made no reference to pronunciation, but also because J! has had "scary cherry" as a correct response in a Rhyme Time category. I don't think it's entirely moot. I think it's what separate...

Re: Tuesday, September 15, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Saying Barry and Berry are different names seems like it's trying to equate it to something like Manet vs Monet. The thing is those names have distinctly different vowel sounds, Monet with a long O and Manet with a short A. (At least I hope we all agree on that!) If either one didn't exist, you coul...

I actually thought they would make a score change for cochineal as a beetle derivative, instead of just insect. Beetle is correct. Wikipedia says cochineals are of the order Hemiptera. Beetles are of the order Coleoptera. Interestingly, this means that the response "What is a bug?" would or at leas...

Re: Monday, September 14, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I got Pantheon right away. Something is weird with the sound mix. The music was drowning out Alex's words. The Statue of Liberty has nothing to do with immigration. It was a gift to the United States from France on the occasion of our hundredth anniversary. Frankie's story was ridiculously boring. ...

Re: Football pre-emptions

Looking ahead to Sept. 21st on the schedule I saw that KGO will be showing the Raiders MNF game locally even though that team has relocated to LV. J! is listed to air at 9:30 after the post-game show. Week 13 has the 49ers hosting a MNF game which I'm sure KGO will have the local rights for as well...

Re: Learned League 86 - Aug/Sep 2020

Anyone remember the LL Q that asked about Cher's swarthy trilogy? I can't find it among Pop Music questions or in the School of Rock ML, which I think it predates. There was one in the 70s Music ML Final asking for the titles of all 3 songs. It did come up somewhere before, maybe in LLLive or a pas...

related to the Presidential discussion in the previous post: #3979, aired 2001-12-13 U.S. PRESIDENTS & VICE PRESIDENTS: He's the only man elected vice president twice & elected president twice This is the only FJ I found specifically referencing the number of terms served by Nixon, but several other...

THE WHITE HOUSE He served the longest combined terms as president and vice-president of any American to date. Who is Nixon? (8 years as VP + 5 years as President) I'd say it needs more TOM or it likely goes 0/3. Nah this is quite gettable, and a well Jeopardy has mined quite often for similar FJs. ...

Name any one of the four solo albums released by the members of the rock band Kiss in 1978. Note, each title has two words, and a full title is required.
