Re: Wednesday, February 24, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS) by Archivists
I don't typically remember past champions but Andrew reminded me of Bruce Simmons, who was a champion I believe when they still had a five-game limit and made a horrific blunder in the finals of the Tournament of Champions. An easy final always favors the contestant who is in the lead. I couldn't be...

TV clues have gotten unfair because the TV landscape has become so segmented. There are too many outlets and too many series to keep track of them.
In the old days, there were only three networks, and there would only ever be trivia questions about the biggest hits and longest-running series.

I spotted gnu right away in the clue. Then I watched as David died slowly. I answered Taps right away and then counted the notes in my head to make sure. Terrible clue: it goes from Duluth to Ontario to Sault Sainte Marie. Duluth and Soo are cities; Ontario is a province, and it contains most of the...

Ilhan for years denied that her father was Nur Said Elmi. With his death came incontrovertible evidence that that was his name and that he was the father of Ahmed Nur Said Elmi. To paraphrase Pearl Buck, every word she says is a lie, including and and the. https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2020...

it's common for Icelanders to check the database before getting into a serious relationship to ensure they aren't too closely related to the other person. :D Insert ilhan Omar joke here I realize you're only parroting a rumor--indeed not even doing so yourself but alluding to it to mask your scurri...

Sam had a lock after the third DD and then the other two contestants ate his lunch in the last two categories. Sam didn't score again.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:48 pm
Sam swept the DDs for +9000 and was nowhere near a lock thanks to Alan playing so well without the benefit of any DDs.

I got William Jennings Bryan after briefly toying with Franklin Pierce. But the TOM for me was that the clue mentioned "first campaign," meaning it was somebody who ran more than once. And I knew it was a loser, because we've never had a president who was that young. Pierce ran only once; Bryan ran ...

Phil Blew it by missing the reference on Wisconsin city and also the reference on remembrance of things past. I think there might have been one other in that category. Basically just not reading the clue properly. I could have gotten La Crosse either from being named after an Indian game or being th...

LOL that Yukon and UConn both came up in the first round. I actually recognized Joe's name when he was announced. I've read his work. But he just didn't have the trivia chops for Jeopardy. Altogether I thought that was a difficult Double Jeopardy round. Mardi Gras is not part of the Epiphany, which ...
