Re: Jeopardy! Interim Host Thread

When does Jeopardy go into summer reruns? That would be the time to make an announcement about the permanent host situation. Then they can let the dust settle over all the guest hosts before they do anything.

Re: TD 460 - 53 [Final results]

Thanks for the TD. My final score was 52. After last report, I gave the wrong answer of bloemfontein; took three with F-22; took eight with the Sheep of Cruel Intentions; took three with Stevie Wonder; and then got - 3 for getting 3 bonus answers correct. Completely sunk on this. I am aware that U2 exists, but somehow in all of this I've never picked up a single fact about them. I somehow thought they stopped having hits in the 90s.

I didn't catch the word area in the San Diego hotel clue and thought that was poorly written because Coronado is a separate jurisdiction. If you have the chance, catch the film Noir television series Coronado 9 starring Rod Cameron. One episode features a daring climax scene on the roof of the hotel...

Re: TD 460 - 53 [Q1-Q8 revealed]

I agree with woppy. Washington took office on April 30th 1789 and left on March 4th 1797. You seem to agree with this by including FDR's one of the correct answers. I did not play this TD because I was on vacation when it was released, passing through Davenport twice, and because I was two weeks beh...

I was rooting for button cute McKenzie. I blew Final Jeopardy with Mack the Knife. I needed more of a Tom to get to Georgia on My Mind from that clue. Mack the Knife was written in 1928 and was the number one hit in 1959, so you can see how I was led astray. I thought them letting Baskin and Robbins...

The outgoing champ had some trivia savvy but no charm. The leader in the game had excellent trivia savvy but no strategy for the big Clues. Austin has all three. I'll bet the kids really like going to his office. I agree with others that Savannah's pauses let Armin snatch Victory from the jaws of de...

Re: How Did Savannah Guthrie Do as Host?

Savannah Guthrie alienated herself from middle America by her despicable treatment of President Trump in last year's town hall forum. No President deserved that. Imagine how the same people that cheered Savanna's strident performance in that debate would have been aghast if someone had treated Barac...

Kirsten wagged her way into irrelevance. Armon has a lot of front, which turns me off, and I hope he is gone soon.

There was a professor I knew in college and the first time I met him in his office he asked me if I wanted to write about somebody's oeuvre and he pronounced it ehhhhhhhv complete with exaggerated French pursed lips. It was big news that Roberts, who was originally nominated to replace O'Connor, would be serving on the Supreme Court with the Justice he clerked for, Rehnquist. This would be the first time a Justice would serve with one of his Clerks. Then Rehnquist died and Roberts's nomination to replace O'Conno...

The FJ! category had my precalls all over the place from Lulu, Little Eva, and Lesley Gore to Elvis, Motown and Cher. I certainly know what you are talking about if you pronounce it with the ending as if it were spelled itis instead of itus, but I would never pronounce it that way myself. That has been my policy since I was corrected on the pronunciation by an audiologist who frankly reminded me very much of Mayim ...

The correction of "metal" to "heavy metal" was bizarre. The latter term is rarely used anymore. How to start a fight in a room full of music nerds: 'Metal and Heavy Metal [or Rock/Rock and Roll; Country/Country & Western; Punk/Punk Rock; Alternative/Alternative Rock/Alt Rock...] are different names...

Strangely my wife and I both thought of the contract negotiation angle and both said "cooling off." I didn't like it at all, but that I was all I could think of.
I have no idea what that has to do with food and drink.
