Re: Wednesday, September 16, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I hope that players like Kelly are not the direction the producers want to take the show. As TalkingAwauy posted, a little goes a long way.. :o

Re: Monday, June 8, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

For the final - MLK is from Atlanta, I did the math to confirm GWTW. I think most of the TS's were pointed out. I was surprised they were missed by all the contestants. I spent a good portion of the show yelling at the television. Pet peeve time. I know they have gotten extremely careless with titl...

In 1984 I probably did not get this FJ! clue right while after seeing this game the show made sure I was edumacated about calendar trivia. Double digits again for clues W and clues not played. floridagator - TheJeopardy!Fan rounded up some games that will be helpful for you: https://thejeopardyfan....

Re: Monday, September 10, 1984 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

And I have to admit that, though I personally missed most of the decade, 50s TV was still a cozy category for me... :) .... and it was an interesting thought to realize that the Jeopardy premiere was closer in time to most of 1950s TV, than we are now to the episode. Hope that doesn't make others f...

Re: Monday, September 10, 1984 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

What a hoot! Who else thinks Alex was looking an awfully lot like Tom Berringer in The Big Chill? Reminded me of when Jeopardy had their in person try outs back in the early days, Alex shows up in his leather jacket and jeans! Looking good! I wonder if they sped up Alex's delivery and then cut thing...

Re: Friday, June 5, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I seem to recall a discussion a few days ago where one of the players was allowed to answer Hepburn without identifying which one. So I guess it was okay for Ben to answer Arkin without identifying it was the father, Alan, not the son Adam. I forgot about that? Yeah, Mrs P and I both thought that w...

I got caught up in the second half of the clue when I should have ignored it. I fixated on trending and could not get beyond it.

Re: Friday, May 29, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I am stunned that final Jeopardy was a triple stumper. I think all the FJ's were rather easy this week. What had me stumped was the wagering in FJ this week. Even if you know you might not win the game, don't you want to wager everything to have as high a point total as possible to make it to the ne...

Re: Wednesday, May 20, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I was waiting for them to come back after the second break and take the DD from Ben. As far as I know it is a tricorn hat not a tri corner hat. For Colon, after blurting out Columbia, I remembered Panama. Speaking of Panama, I thought the Hat category was fairly easy. I might have guessed Spalding G...

Oh thank goodness. I'm glad it was confusing to others. I stopped by to see if anyone else had an issue with the wording.
I spent the entire time and then some trying to decipher the clue.

Re: Thursday, March 26, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

J..... And Evan didn’t even try to win the game. Looks like Evan assumed Susan would make the normal cover wager, which would have dropped her to 5199, and Evan left himself with 5201. That part of it makes sense - he was just thwarted by a lower-than-expected wager from Susan. You have to factor A...

Re: Tuesday, March 24, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Enjoyable game on the whole.. Congrats Nick! Nice work nailing the Pavlovs too (Lazarus, Pagliacci). Instaget FJ. I call the easy ones, like tonight and Monday, as white horse of Napoleon clues. We often put the show on hold and discuss possible answers, not this one. Alex was still reading when I ...

Re: Monday, June 3, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Back in the early part of James' run there was a post on here that included a link to an interview with James. From that interview it sounded like his reign had ended. Not sure how far back I'll have to go to find the discussion. I will learn not to post without reading ALL of the prior posts.

Re: Monday, January 2, 2017 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I got FJ right away and was surprised two went with the U.N. I thought of the UN, knew it was wrong, and failed to follow the bread crumbs from there. If I'd thought of League of Nations, I'd definitely have gone with it. Instead I went with FIFA because a silly long shot is better than no shot. I ...

Re: The Buzz on Buzzy

I like Buzzy and like others have mentioned, he seems to be a solid player who doesn't take any of it too seriously. The one item I've not seen mentioned, and for once I read all of the posts, how he is challenging the Jeopardy gods by teasing Trebek! The first time he did the tease in his FJ respon...

Re: Tuesday, October 7, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I think to prepare to appear on the show these days a potential contestant would need to spend as much time watching HBO, Showtime, AMC etc. as they used to spend studying Shakespeare. Not really. If you've seen the comments directed TenPoundHammer's way, you don't have to have experienced ...
