Re: 2020 Jeopardy North American Audition Tour

I just wanted to pop in again and say thank you to everyone who described their Zoom auditions. This was my first audition after many years of passing the test, so I wanted to get it right, and your comments were helpful for mental preparation. In case it can help anyone else, I'll describe briefly ...

Re: 2020 Jeopardy North American Audition Tour

Part 1 was the 50-question test, which I described on page 7. That was a one-on-one Zoom call; responses were spoken aloud. I've done this step more recently (August), and it was different -- it was essentially the same as the initial online contestant test, but with about 8-10 potential contestant...

Re: 2020 Jeopardy North American Audition Tour

I really appreciate a couple of posters above telling us about what their Zoom call was like. I'm not sure I'm understanding it correctly though. Would somebody mind explaining how there are 10-12 people per Zoom call, but you speak your answers out loud to an interviewer? Wouldn't you all be speaki...

Re: 2020 Jeopardy North American Audition Tour

Great information about the Zoom interviews above. Is there any understanding yet about whether the Zoom interviews: - Are directly related to the January 2020 Online Test? - Are being conducted in waves according to the audition city we selected? If so, is there a listing somewhere of which cities ...

Re: The Jeopardy! Anytime Test

The fact that there are no videos of the Anytime Test anywhere online suggests Jeopardy doesn't allow it. My personal opinion is we should respect that unless someone from the show explicitly says it's okay. I do have my test saved, in case we get the OK.

Re: The Jeopardy! Anytime Test

Advertisements said the Anytime Test could be taken through April 30. But when I went to take it today, the website says the test is "unavailable." The FAQs only promise "late April." Anybody know if the test is closed, or if it is just temporarily down? UPDATE: Test says "unavailable" on the homep...

Ah yes, that's what I remember. So the e-mail should still be valid. Thanks.

Re: 2020 Jeopardy North American Audition Tour

Does anyone know if Corina is still involved in the audition process? I was given an e-mail address for her. I thought I saw something on this board about a changeup in staff, but I can't track it down. Thanks!

When Jeopardy! calls, you don't say no
Amazingly, a lot of people do seem to decline the invitation based on the expense, the inconvenience, or other things going on in their lives. It's understandable that some people don't have a job that lets them take leave on short notice.

Re: 2020 Jeopardy North American Audition Tour

Got my invitation today for a Zoom audition! Not much warning — the available slots are tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday. I’m so excited to have a shot, but I am kind of sad not to have the in person audition experience. I suppose I could’ve just not accepted a spot and hoped to be invited another...

Re: 2020 Jeopardy North American Audition Tour

Is this the best thread to check for when invites to auditions begin going out?

Also, could I be added to OP's list, just for fun? 42, Providence. :D

Re: Boardie Poll About Taking The Test

I've passed the test a few years now, but I've never received an audition invite. I hoped maybe this would be the year. Not to threadjack, but does anyone know what the plan is for auditions in the age of COVID? I'm signed up for Boston. I've been checking several threads, but I haven't seen any inf...

OK, judges: granting that "fallacious" was the desired response, I came up with "specious". Close enough?
Had the same answer, so I'm on your side.
How about "spurious"? A stretch, I know. But not a huge stretch!

Re: The Jeopardy! Anytime Test

For the first time, a friend of mine appeared on Jeopardy (he was champion last night actually). Am I understanding correctly from this thread that he was most likely given a referral sheet in case he knows someone and the e-mail address for a contestant coordinator? Looking for opinions here: I've ...

Re: The Jeopardy! Anytime Test

To my mind, the simpler explanation to the answer for "why now?" is that it has taken them this long to develop a large enough bank of questions and the (admittedly not groundbreaking) technology needed to deliver and score them to cheat-proof the test. If you can run the test with your friend watc...
