Re: Season 37 Preemptions

WPLG-DT Miami: Due to a pregame show for Thursday Night Football's Dolphins at Jaguars game called Countdown to Kickoff, Thursday's Jeopardy! will be seen at 5:30 PM on Sunday, September 27. My guess is that they're actually going to show Thursday's episode in the regular time slot on Friday, and t...

Re: 2020 Current Events Study Guide

"Schitt's Creek" also won Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series (Andrew Cividino and Dan Levy shared the award for co-directing "Happy Endings," the show's final episode).

"Schitt's Creek" is the first show ever to win all seven Emmys that it was possible to win on the prime-time awards show.

Re: Season 37 Preemptions

On Monday, September 21st, "Monday Night Football" is back on ABC for one broadcast only, to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The broadcast starts an hour earlier than it did when "MNF" was regularly on ABC -- 8:00 Eastern/5:00 Pacific. Therefore, KABC has J! scheduled to air after the game, at 9:00,...

Podcast hosts love to invoke misophonia when talking about the complaints they get (or potential complaints they might get) about audible chewing sounds during their shows.

Re: 2020 Jeopardy North American Audition Tour

Also, besides being watched by J! staff, should we be prepared to interact with them at all? This will be my third "in-person" audition, and in the past we had to answer a questionnaire that the staff referred to while talking to us individually. Just for additional clarification, the "second 50-qu...

Do they provide you with a separate link to take something similar to the original online test - they just watch you on camera while you take it? Just trying to mentally prepare. Thanks!
That's it exactly.

Re: 2020 Jeopardy North American Audition Tour

Part 1 was the 50-question test, which I described on page 7. That was a one-on-one Zoom call; responses were spoken aloud. I've done this step more recently (August), and it was different -- it was essentially the same as the initial online contestant test, but with about 8-10 potential contestant...

What got my attention is that the author thinks it's an ABC show, and not syndicated by Sony and that it's on at 7PM EST.
Technically, it's produced by Sony, but it's syndicated by CBS.

Re: Monday, September 14, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Was it strange without the audience? Just for the record (since I don't think anyone answered this), they're using canned applause and laughter. It sounds reasonably normal -- and looks normal, too, unless you notice that they're not using shots of the audience going into commercial breaks. This wa...

When it's just not your day? Jeff works at Mt. Wilson Observatory and did not get in first on the galaxy clue that mentioned his workplace. Have fun at a virtual viewing party or chat with work chums after that one. I suspect Jeff's appearance on J! may not have been the first thing on the minds of...

Re: Season 37 changes and predictions

What time do you wake up and what time do you leave to drive to Culver City? From Los Angeles? Not all of the city of Los Angeles would be referred to as "Los Angeles" in a J! intro... but "Los Angeles" is still a big enough area that it could take one "Los Angeles" contestant five minutes to get f...

Re: Reretaken Down

It was like when HDTV was just coming out and screens were shown and everyone gushed about how beautiful it was. Ummm, either I already have an HDTV and know how good it looks or I have just a regular TV (which was the case at that time) and couldn't tell the difference anyway. I assume if this boa...

One of the CBS affiliates I access is Cleveland, MS and they have a Delta logo, so I got that music Q through a TV path.
When you described the logo that way, I was picturing something more triangular... but it turns out their "Delta logo" is this:

I don't use Twitter much, but I'm wondering if anyone has seen any evidence of Ken toning things down lately there. Seems like Jeopardy! would probably prefer he not be too controversial on social media.
You tell me if this counts as "toning things down."

Already mentioned in the current events thread, but Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Seaver, most closely associated with the New York Mets, died at age 75 of complications of both Covid-19 and Lewy body dementia. (New York Times obituary)

Re: Learned League 86 - Aug/Sep 2020

In LL85, I tied on MD1, 9(6)-9(5).

In LL86, I tied on MD1, 7(5)-7(5).

So at least my defense was better (assigned 2 points to the one question my opponent got wrong, not 0).

Re: 2020 Jeopardy North American Audition Tour

The way I've seen things, The Chase (and I would suspect Jeopardy along with it) aren't even taking contestants from more than a two-hour drive to LA. "The Chase" is at least interviewing potential contestants from farther away than that -- I had an audition session that included two people from No...

Re: 2020 Jeopardy North American Audition Tour

Even though I was theoretically still in the pool from January, I took the Anytime Test on August 5th, and received an invitation today (August 17th) for the next step in the audition process, a Zoom-proctored "in-person" test later this week.

Edited to add: Checked KABC and their schedule matches mine. That's not your station?
It's been updated since the last time I checked, and does match KGO. (What I'd seen previously was that they had local news listed from 8:00-9:00, and then ABC's prime-time programming from 9:00-11:00.)
