Re: Friday, May 3, 2002 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Just the category alone was gravy for me but this is probably the easiest tournament FJ I'll ever see, as I've been a student of all things Titanic for 45 years.

Re: Wednesday, May 1, 2002 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Bob didn't give much (strategy) thought to his final wager. I'm puzzled that he didn't bet the extra $201 to outscore Rachael, in the event he needed a wildcard spot. Even if Rachael didn't double up, it would have been good insurance for Bob to go 2-3 dollars over the even 20 grand just because som...

Re: Friday, May 7, 2010 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

That was the most delightful Celebrity Jeopardy game I ever watched.
All three could hold their own against better than average players in a normal J! game.

Re: Looks Like Jeopardy! Has Resumed Production

Not much different than how it was for the last shows this spring w/ no audience.
I wouldn't think there would be a lot involved in seperating the podiums a couple feet. Even if they had to construct completely new ones.

When Harry didn't ring in for the Frank Sinatra question, he had to be just being modest, right?

A few other stand and stares had me slack jawed as well. Fort Worth, Philadelphia.....

I'll always have fond memories of that era of Millionaire. It was never the same after he left.

That said, I couldn't stomach any of those network morning shows. Not just the ones Regis was on.

Re: FJs for the 7/20/20 rerun week

I know I saw all Chuck and Frank's games when they originally aired. Seems like I've seen a replay of episode #1, but I can't say for sure. I doubt I saw either of the first two episodes when they originaly aired because I was living in a dormitory, and not too many guys had TVs. There may have been...

Re: Friday, December 3, 1993 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

By this season of Jeopardy, I had been watching every episode either live, or by VCR for at least five years. I can't recall noticing how sensitive the player's mics were. Picking up nervous breathing from both Tom and Leslie through the whole episode. Maybe there was a newbie sound man at the contr...

Props to Barbara for knowing Studebaker and getting the rebound after Frank missed it.

She didn't fair as well when guessing the motorcycle make to guitar brand crossover. I wouldn't have faulted her at all if she had guessed Yamaha instead of Kawasaki.

Re: Friday, October 4, 1985 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I noticed the audience was given the 'APPLAUSE' light each time a category was completed with a correctly answered bottom row clue. Didn't matter if multiple players shared the payout, or even if there was a TS during the category. Yet they almost finished the J! board. I think if it not for all Sus...

I wonder if Greg ever thinks about what might have been. The wager was obviously crazy but if he gets it right, he has himself quite an impressive 2-day total. Maybe he wins three more games, gets to the TOC, wins enough to qualify for the UTOC..... alternate universe stuff. I have to ponder that i...

Re: Tuesday, September 11, 1984 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

So in his taped introduction, was AT referring to the three-way tie as something that wouldn’t happen again for 35 years????? I tuned in a minute late, but I believe he was referring to the oddity that he neglected to reveal the correct response after all three missed it. He was going on about how ...

I hope to post a Fourth Podium Poll later tonight so we can all play along. Please include the FJ clue, if you do. Seriously, how many famous people have died from twenty-three stab wounds? How many know he was stabbed exactly 23 times? I certainly didn't. The part about it being a very long time a...

That had me hoping for a clue about David Clayton-Thomas.
Too bad the players avoided "Three Names" like the plague, keeping us from seeing all five clues.

Agree with above poster on the Johnny Carson TS :o Especially since the clue stated he was already a star at the time the movie was in the making. King of Comedy came out in 1983, so Letterman and Lenno were not household names yet. I clammed on it because I wasn't sure between Johnny Carson & Stev...

Of Will's 3 Wrong responses, two of them were bad guesses (-2600) that took him out of a position where he would have been very close to Meggie in the FJ wagering equation.

Meggie overwagered by 599 on her FJ bet.

I believe there’s a grand total of two notable people who have perished in a motorcycle crash. I’d guess that if you asked 50 boardies to name one, about 35 would say Lawrence, about 8 would say Allman, and the rest kicking themselves for blanking on something they knew. Pete Conrad, third man to w...

Alex gives us a Belgian accent for Poirot and whatever that was for McCarthy (he was from Wisconsin, not Mississippi) but he couldn’t help us out with a German accent on Kissinger? Yeah, the McCarthy thing was funny. I wonder if Alex was doing Johnny Iselin from The Manchurian Candidate. Sounded li...
