Re: New old games in the J! Archive

Just out of curiosity, how come seasons 3-6 are a lot more filled in than seasons 7-11? I thought the audio daily doubles in the earlier seasons were a hindrance to them getting replayed on GSN or wherever else they would show up.

Re: Reruns to start May 4th

As for which reruns they'll rerun in the extended hiatus, remember that there's a recent superchampion whose has precisely four weeks of games that haven't been rerun at all yet.

Re: Tuesday, November 30, 2004 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I thought there was a thread on this board that provided evidence that Nancy Zerg was a Wheel of Fortune employee around the time of this episode but with a different last name citing a TV Guide article with her picture about how contestants for Wheel of Fortune got selected, but I couldn't find the...

No S36 game to work on today, so I went to the stack of old un-archived games that have been shared here. I added 2/11/93: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6628 Player pics of Allen Howland, Jay Carrizales & Susie Macksey: https://i.ibb.co/n6c39Jk/allenhowland.jpg https://i.ibb.co/qktJ...

Re: J! in the Media

When they relaxed the age requirements for the tryouts for the 2016 College Championship, I thought they would've had a specifically older student, rather than just having two 23-year-olds and a 24-year-old (at the time of the tournament). I wouldn't be eligible for this tournament no matter what, b...

With the mayor of Los Angeles declaring a state of emergency over the coronavirus, I was wondering if that means that this season of J! will either be cut short or if the remaining tapings will be delayed a while.

Darn it, I was fifteen minutes too late to make the reference. And the Weird Al parody is even more appropriate.

Friendly reminder that the season starts tomorrow. Or today if you want to do advanced access.
Or if you live in a timezone that's GMT-7 (aka Mountain Time) or further west while still being east of the International Date Line, as the LL day begins at 11PM or earlier in those time zones.

BuzzerBlog has been saying that the American version of The Chase should come back and it would be perfect to have Ken and Brad as two of the chasers.
Having all three as Chasers on ABC would fulfill both what ABC wants and what Buzzerblog wants.

Markov chains (or at least some modification of them) are used by lots of people in finance-related fields, and I've heard that some gamblers use them as well. I'm sure that James has lots of familiarity with them.

I have heard of Hanford, and knew it was famous for something, but if you had asked me what it was famous for, I would've said that it was a town that got evacuated after the Mt. St. Helens explosion.

Re: Thursday, November 14, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Interestingly, in the KJV translations, Psalms has 25 more words than Jeremiah. 42,679 to 42,654. (I downloaded text files of each and stripped out the verse numbers via a regular expression search. One of the few times in my experience when regex hasn't been more trouble than it was worth.) I gues...

Re: Thursday, November 14, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I always thought Psalms was the longest book, but that didn't really fit. Plus the phrase "Hebrew word count" led me away from it. Said Lamentations since it kindasortmaybe fit the other part of the clue. As best as I can remember, I've NHO jeremiad. At least I can say I got a DD that James missed....
