Re: New old games in the J! Archive

I had always wondered why that last game from Season 12 was not archived. Good thing it will be soon. Sure would have been nice if the International Tournament had been the whole week then that episode would be easier to find. If the tournament ran all week then the last game of S12 is now the firs...

Re: New old games in the J! Archive

It is odd the Olympic Tournament didn’t have the normal two-day final and instead ended the season with one game separated by a week from the previous regular game. The woman who beat Stephan on 7/12/96 had an unfortunate run. Her two wins were separated by an unusual tournament in the middle of sum...

Re: New old games in the J! Archive

Joe gets the honest dumbass award. At least it made no difference for anything. The clue stumped me and I could only guess a baseball player I knew died that year in hoping he got appointed to something of note. This is the game! I've mentioned it on this board a couple of times, but I always...

Re: New old games in the J! Archive

Marilyn’s last name intrigued me so I googled her to see if there was a connection to Barry. I didn’t find one but I did see an obituary for her from last month.

Re: New old games in the J! Archive

It would depend on how many unarchived games exist out there in the general population.

Re: New old games in the J! Archive

Just noticed Season 9 now has over 100 games archived. I imagine S8 will cross that threshold once Mark gets back to tournament games.

Re: JBoard games

The person who ran the SHC decided to stop doing it due to the time it takes. A few people kept it going for a couple years but it fizzled out. It is a major time investment, much more so than a regular game.

Re: New old games in the J! Archive

The FJ guy’s dirty little secret came out in 1986, so they should have been aware of him even if they didn’t remember him at the UN. For that matter, UN Secretaries General should be on your short list study guide if you get the call and the list was even shorter 30 years ago. A $9,500 combined Cory...

For reruns after the ToC & (likely at some point during the summer) College Championship how do we convince the powers to show 3/20/03 & 3/21/03?
There are five missing games from S14-19. They could have a weeklong special.

Concentration with Hugh Downs was the first game show I remember watching.
We would watch after dinner when I was little. I was too young to follow along the matches but I enjoyed solving the rebuses.

Re: 2020 Current Events Discussion Thread

British singer Dame Vera Lynn has died at the age of 103. In other news, Olivia de Havilland turns 104 in a couple of weeks. And Beverly Cleary turned 104 a couple of months ago. Both women could easily provide material for their own category. My recommendation to the writers is don't wait until af...

Re: Poll on Boardies Covid-19 Impact

I do grocery resets for Publx so a mask is required for work. I don’t go out much but wear it if I think about it. I got dinner at Subway last night and made a point to wear one when I was ordering since I am close to the food others will be eating. I felt that was just good manners. But I generally...

Thanks. It was better than she made it sound and if I hadn’t known Alex threw her a curve I wouldn’t have noticed. But I am sure everyone feels their chat segment was worse than it looked.
