Re: Wednesday, June 16, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Sarah very possibly made the FJ wager that shows the absolute worst winning chances. So of course she wins. She tried to stay ahead of Evan but added the dollar instead of subtracting. But even without the math error, she is below the leader’s MSBIW on a miss. I might have bet zero from the lead as...

Re: Learned League 89 - May/Jun '21

Acclaimed American actor and singer Paul Robeson, whose international fame was established via his performance of "Ol' Man River" in Show Boat, was also closely identified with what Shakespeare character, whom he portrayed in London (1930) and on Broadway (1943)? Is there a TOM I am missing here th...

Re: Tuesday, June 15, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I was completely lost on that Final. None of those locations meant anything to me and I couldn't find anything to pin it on anyone, or even any time. I ended up on Marilyn Monroe, and I'm still not sure if I was really close to the correct answer or really, really far away. Her second husband was J...

Maybe, but I certainly wouldn’t chance it.

Nice job by SG. What a relief after last week! I’ve never watched her before but she’s very good here.
In other words, you find her attractive.

A couple nitpicks on the clues.

How did Plymouth Rock become a symbol of freedom after it split in two?

Also, the possession arrow didn’t eliminate the jump ball after a basket. (The inbounds pass did that). The arrow replaced the jump ball after a held ball.

Re: Monday, June 14, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Sounded like she said “doctorate” rather than doctrine. But I am in a hotel and have no way to rewatch it.

I matched Caitlin’s response. I figured that was wrong because I didn’t think they’d ask players something difficult to spell.

Re: How Did Mayim Bialik Do as Host?

& she is not attractive. I don’t do FB or Twitter, so how the hell did this post sneak into my feed? After all, that’s why we all watch Jeopardy, for the hot babes. Perhaps we need a swimsuit week? Wear a bikini and receive an extra clue to the FJ answer. And don’t forget how cold it is in studio, ...

Re: How Did Mayim Bialik Do as Host?

The only thing that was at all offputting was her reminding us repeatedly that she’s a PhD neuroscientist. By saying so explicitly? I think her commercial is affecting people's memory. Otherwise I wonder if one or other of us was watching a different show. She said she's a neuroscientist at her int...

This is the sixth straight year that the women's singles title at Roland-Garros has gone to a first-time winner. Krejcikova is better known as a doubles sp...

Stevens/Sotomayor here.

I didn’t think his bet was that bad. It got him above the leader’s MSBIW on a get and stays above third place on a miss. Granted, it doesn’t work if the leader bets zero, but that doesn’t happen often.

Didn’t know Redding was from Macon.

I just looked it up and Little Richard was also from Macon. Redding once played in his band.
