I just joined the Jboard lite rundle - FWIW I bounce around between A and B rundles and sometimes C.
We have an even number! Don't worry about your superior intellect - we will dumb you down soon enough:).

Re: Learned League 86 - Aug/Sep 2020

I almost un-registered from the 60's Music ML when I couldn't answer a single one of the sample questions but I'm glad I didn't. So far, there's only been a few I cold didn't know (Walden, Born to be Wild, and Blue Moon) and most of the others I've been able to puzzle out. Good stuff!

Re: Learned League 86 - Aug/Sep 2020

Finished up LL86 with personal records in TCA, TMP, and 3 pointers and 12/38 in my C Rundle which I'm pretty happy with...Ended up with a disappointing 4(4) - 4(2) tie with the rundle leader yesterday. Found it pretty hard to defend (obviously), my opponents film score was his best of the days quest...

Re: Learned League 86 - Aug/Sep 2020

When I first read yesterday's set I thought that I was going to end up with a 0(0), but Ockham clicked on the reread and my educated guesses of Christie and FIFA panned out. I ended up with a tie. I guessed Turkmenistan for the former Soviet republic. I also guessed Charles Manson for Ozzy Osbourne...

Re: Learned League 86 - Aug/Sep 2020

I posted this on the LL board, but am I supposed to know what sodium carbonate is? I mean, I can do the chemistry but washing soda means absolutely nothing to me. Looking it up after the fact, I guess they made glass out of it? Anyway, didn't matter too much as I won 4(4)-3(3) to keep the promotion ...

Re: Learned League 86 - Aug/Sep 2020

My opponent missed Great Barrier Reef AND gave me 3 points for it. Wonder what he was thinking there? I can’t even think of another plausible answer! I wondered if there was some trick to that one and it was some island group, but I figured if it was the Great Barrier Reef and I put something else ...

Re: Learned League 86 - Aug/Sep 2020

7/12 for me, 266 points as I took a shot on Q2 with Nick Lachey and moneyed it and had some other poor moneying decisions. The jockey one took me a minute until I realized there wasn't another sports question and then I realized why all those names sounded familiar. I'm 0-3-2 in my last 5 to drop ou...

Re: Learned League 86 - Aug/Sep 2020

I am kind of mad at myself. My first instinct on the NBA question was, "oh, I've heard this before, this is Malone", but then I decided that wasn't right because I couldn't think of the other one besides Karl. Can't believe I forgot Mr. "Fo-Fo-Fo", Moses Malone. Ended up going with Johnson, hoping ...

Re: Learned League 86 - Aug/Sep 2020

My mind immediately went to cam shaft, although I should've paused and remembered that the cams control valve operation not engine drive. Oh well, didn't matter as I got a 0 on that one and still won 7(4)-5(4) to go into 2nd ( :o ) in my C rundle...

Re: Learned League 86 - Aug/Sep 2020

9 science questions in 9 days to start the season? I know science is the most often asked category but this seems a bit much....looking back, there's an average of 16 science questions per season. Despite that, got a 6(4)-6(5) tie yesterday, thankful my good TV score put the 0 there and I missed it ...

Re: Learned League 86 - Aug/Sep 2020

I had a baconator Wed night...nice to have a layup like that. Third win in a row to move into the top 5 in my 38 person rundle. Meanwhile, the 12 foot boy is killing us all in the C/D/E private rundle... Good job cracking the promotion zone. I think I'll be able to work my way back to D. I'm in fir...

Re: Learned League 86 - Aug/Sep 2020

I had a defensive loss; although I struggled to come up with O2, I assumed once I had it that it would be easier for someone with better sports numbers, like my opponent. The O2 isn't really a sports arena, more of a concert venue really. I got it, as I couldn't think of anything else it could be. ...

Re: Learned League 86 - Aug/Sep 2020

LL86 rundles/schedules are up...C Magnolia is a single rundle this season with 38 (!) players. Will be interesting, first time I've been in a rundle where I won't play everyone.

Re: Learned League 85 - Official Thread

Olympic group 71 is tough. Through 3 days, 4 players with 15 or more TCA and a poor guy who is 0-3 with 14 TCA and 17 CAA. I'm in first with 15 but should really be 17 as I sped through questions on day 2 and only put fosbury and 1918 instead of 1916 without thinking. First place for now. Also had ...

Just looked at my ML Olympic Games group 71...quite the murderers row with 6 or 7 people over .725 sports scores... Yikes, going to be tough to advance

Re: Private Rundle option for LL86 C/D/E players

You know I'm in....already signed up Thanks for doing this. So as not to forget like I did last season (oops) I created the "open private" rundle: all who are reading this who are llamas at the Premier membership level or above are welcome to join. Private rundles give you a second opponent each day...
