Re: Friday, March 26, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

When they asked about the number of states in 1790 and 2020, it seemed so easy and obvious I could swear it was negbait. Certainly didn't belong near the bottom of the board, IMHO.

Re: Tuesday, January 12, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

As I watch Ken, I am aware of a long, long tendency of mine. If I have heard a recording of a piece of music by one artist/group, that becomes (in my mind) the way it's SUPPOSED to sound. if someone else records it later, it's just "wrong." My head tells me the new version is probably just fine, bu...

I thought the last of Alex's original episodes would air on Christmas Day. I must've misunderstood.

Flubbed on 409 and said 401. At least 401 is prime. Can’t say I have ever heard that $2,000 tude word. Also didn’t know herbicide was a trademark. Also said 401 instead of 409. Not only did I not know herbicide was a trademark, I didn't realize adrenaline was too, so I clammed even though I knew it.

Re: Thursday, December 10, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Yesterday I had hopes that someone could match me on my FJ! clue miss. Today I have no such hope. I was stumped on the clue and just before the music ended I scribbled Minsk for something I could write quickly. I don't think Minsk is such a bad guess, as the country declared it's independence two y...

Count me among those who said "Pink Panther." I've seen bits and pieces of "Holy Grail," and even saw "Spamalot," but not the full movie.

Hosting Question

Maybe this has already been discussed on here and I've missed it (haven't been around much), but has anyone thought about Brad Rutter as a host, even as just an interim one? He's well-known to long-time fans of the show, already lives in Southern California, and has previous quiz-show hosting experi...

You think Kelly will use footage of this game for an audition, the outcome notwithstanding?

Is it possible they might follow the lead of the major sports leagues and tape new episodes without a studio audience?

Re: Monday, March 30, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

When it was clear they were looking for an animal in FJ, I kept thinking of the ones who've advertised various cereal brands over the years, (Tony the Tiger, Toucan Sam, etcet), but knew they were all before 1980. Incidentally, most of those were created by the same Ad Agency in Chicago that became ...

The clue is not maintaining that the chain is called "General Nutrition Centers".
My question wasn't whether he said "Center" or Centers". My question was whether he said "Nutrition" or "Nutritional," and I've been overruled.

The chain is actually called "General Nutrition Center" while Matt said "Nutritional." I was surprised they didn't change his score.

This talk about the "too young" comment reminds me of the time in my workplace that several of us were incredulous when a know-it-all coworker wasn't familiar with the book "1984." Her explanation: "Do you know how old I was in 1984?" (seven) Never mind that the book was written in 1948, and never m...

OK, judges: granting that "fallacious" was the desired response, I came up with "specious". Close enough?
I'd say so. I actually said "fallicious," which is related, but not exactly the same judges?

FJ was definitely not an instaget for me, but about halfway through I thought, "Ova--eggs," i.e. oval-shaped or ovaries. Not the easiest FJ ever, but not the hardest either.
