Re: Tuesday, March 24, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

When the clue said "Bad version of Batman" I tried to think of the name of the Nite Owl character, who is a bad version of Batman. https://i.imgur.com/jvpbC25.jpeg Nite Owl Yeah, as the comic nerd, I insta-got Rorschach, but the clue itself confused me. The "Bad version of Batman" is Owlman, which ...

Young people. Adam did not know what went with Ronald Reagan in THE PRESIDENTIAL SWEET for DD1. I said Jelly Bellies and counted it. Apparently licorice was his favorite. The monster. Re: Wednesday, March 25, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I forgot to mention in the previous post that Rachel got credit for having "and" between the two and not a hyphen, so either way is fine if it comes up for judging a response come poll time. I'd probably be okay with no hyphen, but I'm not sure having an "and" should be allowed. When I saw the judg...

Re: Tuesday, March 24, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

They were probably counting on the current Watchmen TV show to bump recognition which is a favorite tactic of theirs. (Haven't seen it, not sure how big a role Rorschach plays in it so I might be off the mark here) As far as my brief research leads me to believe, Rorschach is not in the show. That ...

Re: Tuesday, March 24, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

How the hell did I know "cherchez la femme" but not "chicharrones" or Ichabod Crane being a schoolteacher? Rorschach seemed way too obscure for anyone else save for the comic nerds. They were probably counting on the current Watchmen TV show to bump recognition which is a favorite tactic of theirs....

I'm usually on your side, writers, but this?... Of 500 colonists in this first English settlement in N. America in fall 1609, fewer than 1/5 would survive the coming winter Well? WELL??! I dare you to justify that Virginia location. Managed to mentally name every -other- Watchmen character...and I p...

So Michonne went into FJ with the lead, got FJ right, and lost. I could spend a week criticizing that wager, but why bother? The result speaks for itself.
Don't mention the wager!

Re: FJs for the 3/16/20 week

Found another extremely low-polling top box in regular play. "Goop.com" was 17% back in 2014 . That seems to be a really tough week for the writers overall, as the Wednesday FJ! polled only 9%, with 63% saying they didn't even have a guess. The highest polled only 64%, and 12% were 0/5 that week. T...

Re: Learned League 84

I've avoided relegation. Didn't meet my secondary objective of 11 wins to tie my D record, but I should be able to get that next season (only needing, at most, 4, which seems doable).

Kinda hoping I get another tie in these last two games, so I can set a new personal record for ties in a season.

Did Alex call Tina Fey “the original SNL cast”?
No. He said "The early--the early days" and she said "Very early."
Thanks for the correction. The comment is just as inaccurate, however.
That's what makes it a joke.

Coronavirus preemption on ABC. Wheel's going to air, of course... Maybe last night's J! got preempted into oblivion since Wheel aired as normal, but perhaps we're getting Thursday's tonight and Friday's tomorrow. I, for one, am (so far) enjoying my first time legit working from home. Day drinking! WOO!

It'll likely get frustrating as we enter week three since I don't have all my available tools (though they might amend that by then).

As soon as Gov. Newsom wrapped it up the local anchors came back on to end the regular newscast before commercials and J! airing on the dot.
Not here, World News Tonight instead.

I had never heard of the Mandela effect, but it sounds like it's just one step removed from Q-Anon, and should never have been on the show. Enough with those moronic conspiracy theories. It's more like a case of shared cognitive dissonance. I had to figure out why it was called the Mandela Effect (...

Re: Learned League 84

Today I had a failure. I somehow read the question about Elizabeth II's newest great-grandchild as saying its name was the same length as hers. I thought, "Well, he's Archie, but A-R-C-H-I-B-A-L-D; E-L-I-Z-A-B-E-T-H. Both nine letters, there you go!" Same. When I saw the answer after submitting it ...
