Re: Season 37 changes and predictions

When I was watching the segment on GMA previewing the new season, I did see the contestants walk up to their podiums but all at the same time, not one by one like during the first 16 seasons (Johnny would say "Now entering the studio are today's contestants"). So perhaps the practice of the contesta...

Re: Season 37 changes and predictions

Now that the globe intro made a comeback, I wonder if Mike Richards will revive some of these other Jeopardy! traditions that were part of the show during the 80s and 90s and were retired from Season 14 onward: The set background changing its color to red for Double Jeopardy! and Final Jeopardy! but...

Re: Season 37 changes and predictions

Forget the spoiler I made, as someone posted a photo of the modified set on another thread. Anyways, another change I found out about is Ken Jennings will join the show as a consulting producer and will make his own video clues. Due to Mike Richards replacing Harry Friedman as the executive producer...

Re: Season 37 changes and predictions

Here's the redesigned set for this coming season. Like I predicted it's not an entirely new set like we saw 7 years ago, but it's undergone a few cosmetic changes other than the contestant lecterns being spaced farther apart than in previous seasons. https://media.wtsp.com/assets/WTSP/images/a55135...

Season 37 changes and predictions

We look back at Season 36; and it has been pretty dismal, especially since it ended early because taping was suspended when COVID-19 hit. However, there have been a few moments worth remembering, but not to the extent that we saw in Season 35. Obviously, the most memorable moment from S36 was James ...

Re: Tuesday, February 6, 2001 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I remember seeing this episode before on either DailyMotion or YouTube back in 2011, and it was an entertaining episode, especially when Charles didn’t ring in on a single clue in the Jeopardy! round. That said, other comments I’d like to make are that I really liked the set that was used for these ...

Re: Looks Like Jeopardy! Has Resumed Production

I don't think you could say the current set looks dated. And it's not like there's new technology that would be beneficial out there to the show, like the switch to one giant HD screen instead of 30 (or 36) TV sets, or the switch from the 1980s "light pens" to the more modern touchscreens I presume...

Re: Looks Like Jeopardy! Has Resumed Production

Interestingly, when Bob Barker retired as the host of The Price is Right and then Drew Carey took his place, the set underwent a lot of cosmetic changes; also, the iconic theme song and the "come on down" music cue were re-recorded (with extra percussion added to the "come on down" cue). So I wouldn...

Re: Friday, October 4, 1985 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I remember these shows and he most definitely did more bouncing than he did in his fifth game. But I remember his bounce being different than others but memories have ways of becoming less true as the years go by. As I remember Chuck, he would often shift between a few categories at a time rather t...

Re: Looks Like Jeopardy! Has Resumed Production

According to an unaired segment of GMA, Alex mentioned that the set has been redesigned for social distancing. I'm wondering if this means a completely new set (e.g. like at the beginning of Season 30) or some modifications to the current set, much like what we saw in 2006 when the show began broadc...

Re: Reruns to start May 4th

So glad they're re-airing episodes from some of the earlier seasons and not just games from Seasons 34 and 35. That said, before I checked the schedule for shows to be aired during the vault weeks, I was hoping they would do a week of Ken Jennings episodes (7/13/2004 - Ken breaks the $1M mark; 7/23/...

Re: Friday, October 4, 1985 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I just watched the episode, and Chuck Forrest was indeed a phenomenal player. I would’ve considered him a possible candidate for Greatest of All Time from when the 5-day limit was in effect...well, before Brad Rutter won the Million Dollar Masters Tournament in Season 18. Other candidates from that ...

Re: Reruns to start May 4th

Assuming no new episodes for S36 get taped, and thus there will be reruns from June onward, TPTB ought to air several more Ken Jennings episodes. In particular, they should air the episodes when Ken reached $1M, where he broke the one-day record with $75K, and reaching the $2M mark. If Daytime Jeopa...

Re: Monday, May 4, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Just watched the episode, and now I can't wait to rewatch the GOAT encore; what a way to keep fans entertained while running out of new episodes. Anyways, except for the closed captioning sponsors, they didn't dub in the music package; I was expecting they would've dubbed in the music during the end...

Is the rest of Season 36 going to be all reruns?

The week after Jeopardy! taped new episodes without an audience, the show suspended taping altogether alongside its sister show Wheel of Fortune. And I haven't heard any news about when taping will resume. I think the episodes that were last taped will air in June. And that brings me to my question....

Re: J! to Tape Without Live Audience

So what week was the most recent tape date supposed to air, if anyone knows? The week of Memorial Day. Tomorrow and Wednesday's tapings are for June 1-5 and June 8-12, respectively. March 31 and April 1 are for June 15-19 and June 22-26. April 6 and 7 are for June 29-July 3 and July 6-10, and April...

Re: Dreams About Jeopardy!

Last year I also had a dream I was a four-time champion, and it happened a few days before James Holzhauer's first game. On my third episode, I broke Roger Craig's single-day winnings record with $93,000 as I wagered big on FJ! and responded correctly. But on my fifth game, I finished in second plac...

Re: Season 37 Predictions

Music package is another one I really want. I am hoping it's the GOAT Think Music because that's my favorite. As you said in the recap thread for the first GOAT episode, in Super Jeopardy!, the lights dimmed during Final Jeopardy! and was used on the regular show in Season 7. I think the reason the...

Re: Season 37 Predictions

Here are my predictions for next season if S36 were to be the last one with Alex hosting: - There would be a new set. - The music package gets refreshed (let's hope the theme music for GOAT doesn't carry over into the regular series) but weekend reruns of S36 still have the 2008 theme. - Jim Thornto...

Re: Jeopardy! Episodes That Got Leaked

I forgot another leak with Ken's loss. On Black Friday 2004, a station in Georgia accidentally aired the Final Jeopardy! from his 75th episode instead of his 73rd win. Also, someone who attended a Season 21 taping in September 2004 posted on a forum about Ken Jennings losing his 75th game; and the ...
