Has there never been a game with only strike pitches?
I would bet large sums of money that never has -- and never will -- happen.
I will gladly take your bet that it will never happen. Name your odds and send me your wager by PayPal.

Another guess is that they already booked Season 37 full of guest hosts but also want to shoehorn in the ToC.

Re: J! and Wheel Credits spreadsheet

I don't, but if I see any long credits in new old games that I enter into the Archive, I will add them to the credits transcripts thread.

Was there a precedent for "questioning" "answers"?

We all know the story of Julann Griffin first formulating the "answer in the form of a question" conceit, but I'm curious, was this a totally original twist, or were there any preexisting games (not necessarily game shows) in which the objective was to come up with a question that matched a given an...

Is eating canned beans with ketchup really a thing? Or was it rendered obsolete once baked beans were canned with some kind of tomato sauce?

five blocks down from me is a Pasquale's Pizzeria that's been in business for many decades.
I presume that's different from Pasqually's Pizza & Wings.

The way Rodgers pronounced Borden, with the stress on the second syllable, as if to emphasize that an E was used in the name, followed immediately by announcing a misspelling, had me questioning what the actual surname spelling was--Bordin? Bordon? Bordan? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-ppAobEGYU...

Re: Jeopardy! Interim Host Thread

I remembered Burton's attempt to Kickstart a Reading Rainbow TV show revival and wondered whatever came of it, but I hadn't heard about the lawsuit. WNED-Buffalo seems to have been within its rights on some things and well beyond on others, like its untenable attempt to assert some sort of intellect...

Unfortunately I was spoiled on the FJ! response by a too-quick click in the daily thread, so I won't know how I would have fared, but I think my chances at arriving at the right response would have been poor. The category name would have led me to an outlaw, like Bonnie Parker (born 1910, it turns o...

The question is why he hasn't even gotten a guest-hosting slot. Mike Richards seems to have a strange "plan": What I'll tell you is, for the guest hosts, we're gonna look at ... people that are credible giving the clues, people that can actually give the clues accurately, that are going to be able ...

Re: New old games in the J! Archive

Boy, I'd like to see that FJ in the weekly poll. No idea, but Colleges and Universities is a personal weak spot. It was a gimme for me, but I don't know much about the college and wouldn't have gotten it if the clue didn't include "oceanographic institute". Add that and it becomes Pavlovian for me;...

This appears to be a full-credits show.

It's also the sole appearance of the third, previously missing Shen sibling, Gwen Shen. I wonder if she keeps up with the piano these days.

I like how the easiest FJ! this week (going by the poll numbers) was the one that was almost completely TOM. I mean, did anyone ever hear the trivia about this letter being written threatening Jackson? Would've been a good poll option.

Re: Reretaken Down

Impressive! I mean, still nothing like selling half a billion records a year, as it was during vinyl's heyday. Also nothing like overall physical-copy music sales in the late '90s, which was peak era for the music business. I get the attraction to vinyl for a certain set, but that set disincludes a...
