Re: New old games in the J! Archive

Back to the previous game 6793 it was funny to see Alec, Bart & Carol for an A-B-C left to right. I would guess cheezguyty could find other instances of that specific alphabetical line-up. [...] September 6, 1989 - Alan vs. Bob vs. Charlie June 8, 2009 - Andrew vs. Baltazar vs. Cindy December 22, 2...

Re: Before and After: WoF or J?

Before & After appeared as a category first on Wheel in 1989, and on J! on 4/1/97 (the Pat Sajak-hosted episode), as has been mentioned here a bunch. Since then, however, it is apparently the most common recurring category type to appear on J! ("recurring category type" here refers to things like "...

Re: Wednesday, February 7, 2001 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Is anyone able to check an original recording of this episode? The text in the image that was shown with the Pocahontas clue on tonight's broadcast is completely different from what is transcribed on the Archive and I'm curious if there was an edit. [EDIT: Thanks Mark, you're the best! :)] Wayne Bra...

Jodie Foster: 8300+8300=16600 ($16,600 to charity)
As Jodie was being announced as the winner, her score display changed to $21,600, and that is what Alex said that her charity would be receiving.

Re: Monday, October 26, 1992 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Was there a week with only four celebrity games? In addition to a Power Players Week and the Celebrity Invitational, Season 14 had three themed celebrity games scattered seemingly at random among the regular episodes. Season 15 had six more of these theme nights; the first two aired as lead-ins to ...

Re: Monday, October 26, 1992 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

"In Jeopardy!'s eighth season, 1992, we aired the first...." Close, Alex's writers. Oh, so very close. But this episode, at least according to the database, is October...firmly in season 9. Unless, perhaps, they decided to air a week of repeats about 6-7 weeks into the season, and the shows origina...

Re: Friday, October 4, 1985 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I watched for the Forrest Bounce like Alex said to do. Rather disappointingly, I saw only one instance of it during the entire game: Clue 13 in DJ, when Chuck goes to the FRUIT & VEGETABLES category after having previously selected the top clue in THE BIBLE By my reckoning, every other clue selectio...

Re: New old games in the J! Archive

Sorry, I can see how my wording was ambiguous. The correct dates are February 14 to 25, 1994 (per many contemporary newspaper articles and the Archive's Collected Finals page).

I added 2/14/94: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6768
All of the '94 Teen games in the Archive need to be moved back one week (the Prizes page has the wrong dates as well).

Thank you for your continued contributions to the site! :)

Re: New old games in the J! Archive

For cheezguyty: Was the $500-$500-$500 to open play rare or fairly common in this game: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6751 without the inclusion of a DD played in the first five clues? or if $1000 across the board the same way in new games happens a lot? That happens far less often ...

Re: New old games in the J! Archive

Here’s a test for cheezguyty: In their first six games has any contestant done better than Amanda for fewest TS clues total in their games? Scott Gillispie may have; the Archive shows only 10 Triple Stumpers in his first six appearances, but two-thirds of his fourth game are missing. Tying Amanda w...

Rebekah was in a rare spot (if not only time?) to play DD3 at clue 30 of F2. If it isn’t the only time I am sure Cheezy or Sg will correct you soon. It's not a correction, it's a clarification. :ugeek: :) Other times when the third Daily Double came at clue 30 in a deciding game: 1987 Tournament of...

The remind-alike game was easy today with Lindsay, as from moment one of her speaking (coupled with her appearance) it was Beth Behrs as Gemma Johnson on CBS's The Neighborhood . I had two thoughts upon seeing the challengers introduced: that Lindsay looks like the blonde version of Season 34 champ...
