Re: Is the Teen Tournament marketing campaign disrespectful to the teen contesta

I'm delurking for story time! Back in the distant past -- the cultural wasteland that was 2008 -- TPTB had us record a hip-and-happening Real World parody commercial that was aired the week before the tournament. This was only ten years after its heyday. Even worse, during the pre-taping interview p...

It's really not my place to say, but Madden got disqualified for hiring the Standards and Practices team that J! uses.

Re: Familiar Face on "The Chase"

What would happen I wonder if no one made it to the final round. In the UK I think they play a game against one or more of the trio of contestants for a couple thousand dollars UK or something for beating the Beast. It's called a lazarus game. Whoever is designated team captain would come back to p...

Re: Familiar Face on "The Chase"

The TV listing for the USA Today and the 8/27 episode does not have a result spoiler. It does have an intriguing appearance teaser. "A former member of the Runaways" is what is in the grid box. So how many potential players if we assume it's not Joan Jett or Lita Ford? I'll save you the trouble: it...

Re: J! 30th anniversary tournament

Jonathan Groff is probably out thanks to his heavy Hollywood/"Happy Endings" involvement. But this was just an excuse to incorporate Happy Endings into something. Happy Endings was produced by Sony Pictures Television so he's definitely out. But he's not the only player that has been disqualified f...

Re: My Audition Experience (Chicago)

For my teen tournament appearance (Fall 08) I received airplane tickets for me and both of my parents, a hotel room at the Universal Hilton, three tickets to Universal Studios, a $1000 per diem ($1000 total for all days, not literally each day), transportation to the studio, and lunch at the studio....

Not to start a flame war, but this writer summarizes my thoughts on the movie's source material quite well:
