Re: Fun with ABC's "The Hustler"

I thought it was each of the 3 finalists at different times. I did think it was Sue when the show opened. I enjoy this show to some degree. Sue did supply most of the answers towards the end. And good for Ben as he pointed out that it’d be more likely for a woman to test drive two guys to figure out...

I think he stinks. He annoys me no end.
Why does he annoy you?

Smarmy, odd voice and he’s dull as a host. Maybe I miss Alec too much...

Re: Ken Jennings as a Host Poll

I think he stinks. He annoys me no end. I think Brooke Burns would be the best choice although I think Mike Richards will probably end up getting the job.

If I somehow do make it on the show after all of this, should I put "met Violent J at a furry con" on my card?

You’ve actually taken and passed the online test?

Re: Fun with NBC's "The Weakest Link"

I agree this was the best episode so far. The nuclear physicist should’ve just said he was a student. The detective was pretty smart. Is $82,000 the largest prize so far? That first boot was most deserved.

Good win by Tanay. I feel like I’ve seen that FJ question somewhere recently. Not great first night. It seemed like tryout ken chuckled at the 3rd contestants wrong answer. He spoke too fast but also like he had a donut stuck in his throat.

Re: Fun with ABC's "The Chase" [Spoilers]

Sarah Haines makes it seem like she doesn’t know the answers herself. Brooke was much, much better. The monetary amounts here are crazy! For an hour show it’d be better if there was a fourth player. That first guy didn’t belong up there. For crazy money how about the haul on Celebrity WoF last nigh...

Re: Friday, January 8, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I’m in Southern California right now which is a bit of a disaster zone with CV. Can’t even watch the news these days. Too depressing. We did delay picking up dinner in order to watch this final episode of Jeopardy. I didn’t realize they’d have a tribute tonight but we’re going home on Sunday & lucki...

Re: Thursday, December 10, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I knew Bratislava because I visited there 11 yrs ago. As noted above, it takes a bit longer to get there. We took the train & that was about an hour from crappy vienna. Bratislava was interesting in that there’s nothing in English when you depart the train. It still felt like we were in the Cold War...

Re: Learned League 87 -- Nov/Dec 2020

Ina Garten was on the cover of October’s issue of the Costco Connection which I scanned through the day before and then her nickname was also mentioned in a supermarket shopper mailer that I saw after I’d answered. She seems to enjoy cooking. My opponent and I both scored 5 correct answers but I nee...

Re: Learned League 87 -- Nov/Dec 2020

I live in South Carolina now but I’d never heard of Lake Veronica. Luckily I knew her real name. And I’m of Irish descent so when I learned of Bernardo O’Highins at a young age I never forgot the name. Unfortunately I think I incorrectly used his name on a different Founding Fathers of South America...

He was the best of their crew. It’s a shame he was fired. Some quirky cat lady ran one of my auditions. I liked Glenn tons better.

My opponent and I assigned the same exact points to each other. I knew Keir Starmer and he didn’t so I won 9(6)-6(5).

Re: Learned League 85 - Official Thread

I was floored that 50% thought the Great Salt Lake is larger than Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. I'd say that most of that 50% couldn't name any other "Great" lakes and decided that some answer is better than no answer. I thought the two lakes were Great Salt & Great Slave. I actually put down the fir...
