Re: Thursday, October 17, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

still can't believe british columbia was a triple stumper Canadian geography is a major source of triple stumpers. They might as well ask about the names of public parks in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. There are only 10 provinces, and J! asks about them all the time. I cannot for the life of me figure out ...

Re: Wednesday, October 16, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

FJ! seemed easy to me, but it's easy when you know it. It may as well have been saying "Who was the leader of China?", with "red" leading to China or Russia as being the obvious communist choices, and Russia not being right for the timing. I honestly had to think about Mao vs Chiang Kai-Shek, but t...

Anyone else mix up Erik the Red with Erik'sson, Leif? Nobody? Just me? That used to be a coin flip for me... what works pretty well is... if the year is almost exactly 1000, it's Leif. If it's a generation earlier than 1000, it's Erik. I’m in the midst of a deep dive on EXPLORERS, so I nailed it. G...

Re: Tuesday, October 15, 2019 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Man, I got majorly taken to the woodshed in DJ for knowing very little about British culture or US pop culture. It took a clutch run at the end for me just to salvage a 24000 Coryat. Definitely not hoping to see that kind of board if I ever get on the show. Impressive debut for Ed. 30 right, not too...

That was alllllmost me. Got on the right track immediately, brainfarted on the name, but pulled it out at the last second after sorting through first names with the correct initial.

... Erin crushed it on the music clues. IMHO, that's what won her the game. 3/5 and +$3200 on the music clues taken away leaves Erin with 9200 and still in position to take the game in the FJ! round with Anthony's miss. Erin won for overall better buzzer work while 6W and 2nd place after the DJ! ro...

I now see a little bit of the reason for the FJ! bet - I'd be tempted to Clavin that category, because it's my specialty, too.
