Good run at it, CheezeWhiz!

And it was you, not Chris, that got Margaret Smith Court right.

Re: Order in the Court!

I believe that Chris put Margaret Court's maiden and married surnames in the wrong order. Court should come before Smith. Oh well, no neg. He did transpose them, and he should have been docked. As unacceptable as saying Jacqueline Onassis Kennedy or Oliver Holmes Wendell. Apparently the judges were...

The clue asked for "these" and she says "need". How was that not reversed? The slogan is often quoted with the singular word and we know grammatical agreement is not required on J! except for exact quotes. It is an exact quote...but it appears it can go either way. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fro...

In Dan's defense, they don't teach math in law school.

But since his mom has been in the audience each day, maybe at some point she can explain how a couple extra thousand may not justify the risk of not being around the following day in the event there is a FJ triple stumper?

Re: Wednesday, May 20, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

It's odd because older movies seem to be a weak spot for a lot of folks I'd say a lot of people just don't feel like sitting around and watching old movies. That's the main reason for my lack of knowledge in that area. But they sit around to watch new movies, and presumably, people are still sittin...

Re: Wednesday, May 20, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Witness for the Prosecution is a triple stumper?? A film based on one of the most popular murder mystery authors, directed by one of the greatest directors, cast with some of Hollywood's most iconic actors? Not to mention 'The Verdict' with Paul Newman being same (with 2 wild guesses). And the blan...

Witness for the Prosecution is a triple stumper?? A film based on one of the most popular murder mystery authors, directed by one of the greatest directors, cast with some of Hollywood's most iconic actors? Given that Hollywood is a well-used Jeopardy category, it's hard to fathom that contestants ...

Re: Thursday, May 14, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

So what SHOULD I know Sarah Silverman for anyway? She's Andy or Ollie on Bob's Burgers . She had a TV show called The Sarah Silverman Program . She dated Jimmy Kimmel and, while doing so, appeared on his show to play a video of her and Matt Damon singing a song titled "I'm F***ing Matt Damon." The ...

Re: Thursday, May 14, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I have to wonder if they dumbed this episode down just for these contestants. Tough crowd. Seriously!! This is supposed to be a "fun" week; notably, this week isn't particularly designed to please regular Jeopardy fans. The clues are dumbed down, they take longer for the interviews, etc. If you're ...

floridagator, I would have given you a one-day pass for using the "h" word today. (Kissy-faces and writing "Mr. Wonderful" on his podium? Yeah, that's hubris.) (Not for any game play decision, however.) IT'S TRUE $1000: Anyone else think "livery" was major neg-bait? Yeah, real slow game play from M...

Aaron Rodgers is going to hear about that FJ miss for a long, long time. He plays quarterback for Wisconsin's NFL team; Harley-Davidson was founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin . After dairy products, H-D is about as Wisconsin as it gets. Even a guy who played at Cal should have been able to figure that ...

One clue left on the board and if Dan gets it right, he breaks the lock and has a chance in FJ. Granted, it is ballet, but who knows. Then the answer is "Blah blah blah blah 19th century French author blah blah blah blah". No ballet knowledge needed!!!! Just guess a French author. So of course he c...

Re: Friday, May 1, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

It turned out to be a pretty easy get. Ford and Rockefeller are both dead, so the next in line is Walter Mondale. A quick scan got me Cheney, Gore, Quayle and Bush for the other living XVPs, all of whom served after Mondale. Which is great if you remember that it was Mrs. Mondale who passed away re...

Re: Wednesday, April 29, 2015 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

It may matter that Radio Shack's bankruptcy was in the news a lot more at the time of taping then it is now (it declared bankruptcy on Feb 5, 2015 and the show was taped on Feb 24th) That answers a question I was going to ask. I was curious about the "INDIANAPOLIS" category being so non chalant, gi...
