Whittaker is 69 years old. I certainly don’t see him as a serious candidate for permanent host.
Alex was 80...so is 11 years not enough?

Re: Jeopardy! Interim Host Thread

The real question here is if Aaron Rodgers hosts, will the contestants know what it is he does for a living...

Re: Monday, January 11, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Ken was reading fast, and while that was strange after being used to Alex, it wasn't bad. I know Tanay's background, I'm guessing he was going for anticipation buzzing in at the start instead of reacting to the light. He caught on quick though, and had the result I was expecting to see. He'll be a g...

Logging in at 12:55 EST to record Jeopardy, and realizing it won't be Alex... :(

I'd say it's just a matter of availability. You have to seek out Bye Bye Birdie. The Accountant is a recent mass market product.
Not much of a seek, available for rental on both YouTube and Amazon.

Re: Jeopardy! Interim Host Thread

I don’t know all the S&P rules but Ken hosting practice games while still a player is a little weird. Maybe not crossing a line but getting close to it. Hadn't heard that story; hope it may an urban legend. I think "little weird" may be an understatement, "a lot weird" more closely matches my react...

Re: Friday, January 8, 2021 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Shoot... I know Alex wanted to leave a final 30 second message on his last episode, and I wish he was able to do so. The montage at the end was very nice nonetheless. I know he said it, but I like it better this way...he kept doing exactly what he loved doing right to the end. I've been wondering i...

It will be interesting to see what they do with the opening credits Monday.
I don't see any reason to change it at all right now.

The 2021 NCAA Men's D-I basketball is expected to take place entirely in and around Indianapolis in late March. The venues are expected to include: * Lucas Oil Stadium (home of the NFL's Colts) * Bankers Life Fieldhouse (home of the NBA's Pacers) * Indiana Farmers Coliseum (home court for IUPUI [In...

Re: 2020 in review and what's in store for 2021

Also to consider is how not everyone that is good enough to pass the test, and lucky enough to get randomly drawn to audition, will have an interview that makes the contestant coordinators feel they will be good on TV. I used to interview horribly, looking back I can easily see why I wasn't picked ...

Re: 2020 in review and what's in store for 2021

On another note, production will resume on January 11th. We know the show opened to contestants from the rest of the US in December, but with whatever rules are in place...maybe the show will put up those velvet ropes again? Are you saying the first tapings of 2021 are on January 11? From what I’ve...

Re: 2020 in review and what's in store for 2021

I think that's a pretty heady allegation that I'd just as soon not be part of discussing in a public forum. If it's all the same to you, I'll just go on naively assuming we all compete on equal footing. Thanks. Based on my audition in 2017, women and minority candidates definitely measured up in ab...

Re: 2020 in review and what's in store for 2021

Don't forget, the pool is segregated. ... Either way, you need to remember that the middle-aged white guys are in their own pool, while everyone else is swimming together in another pool. Remember? I didn't know that was a "thing", so how could I "remember" it? Is this a documented "thing", or a sp...

Re: 2020 in review and what's in store for 2021

I think that they wouldn't want Ken (or Brad, James, Pam, Colby, etc.) as the permanent host because that would make a whole lot of serious trivia players ineligible to be on the show. One could make a pretty good argument that recent history suggests they're not exactly after a "whole lot of serio...

Re: Fun with ABC's "The Chase" [Spoilers]

Nice. Has an airdate been given? Thursday, January 7th and that will be sandwiched by Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and Craig Ferguson hosting The Hustler . The Ferguson show will have trivia questions and the catch is one of the five players already knows all the answers ahead of time. The Hustler ca...
