Another FWtBT here. Never cared that much for the Lost Generation writers.

LT of Starship Troopers, but be advised there has never been a movie of that Heinlein classic. That is all.

Re: Tuesday, March 31, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I had a hard time parsing FJ: unclear whether the 18 miles was named, or if the state was named. I started trying to come up with names of coastlines, not names of states, and couldn’t get unstuck. Not one of the writers’ better outings IMHO.

Michonne's FJ wager made this a moot point, but the captioning for the Stephen Crane clue in DJ said "Red *BAND* Of Courage" and I was waiting for a reversal.

Was this a caption blunder or did Michonne really say band?
I heard her clearly say “badge”.

On FJ, I didn’t know the Philippines had a representative in the House, but I knew they were a territory during WW2 and became independent soon after the war’s end, so that’s what I wrote down.

Went to Island of Doctor Moreau pretty quickly; I’ve never read it or seen the movies but knew the general gist of the plot, knew it was British (H.G. Wells), and “house of pain” sounded plausible given the plot.

Agree with Golf about the wagering.

On the first line thing, you could make more than one entire category using the Parker books from Richard Stark (aka Donald Westlake). Some samples: “When a fresh-faced guy in a Chevy offered him a lift, Parker told him to go to hell.” “When the woman screamed, Parker awoke and rolled off the bed.” ...
