Re: GOAT Tournament Day 1 (1/7/20) Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

For the reruns, I've noticed some editing changes. The ones I noticed are that the GOAT reruns have a commercial break after the second Double Jeopardy! Daily Double, likely to make up for not having the commercial breaks in the middle of the Jeopardy! round like the regular show. The other one I n...

Re: J! in the Media

As Dwight Schrute would say, FALSE . Ken game 75 was aired in 2009 among the 7 weeks of reruns that followed Season 25: it aired on September 10th, the Thursday preceding the premiere of Season 26. (Other shows aired that week were #1 from 1984, Eddie Timanus game 5 (#3482), Ken's final win (#4656)...

Re: Monday, May 4, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Oh, so that means Ken's run probably aired in the year-old run on June 1-July 22, September 5-16, October 3-14, October 24-November 8, and November 23-29, 2005. Add a week to the dates from September on - 2005 had a seven-week summer hiatus. Oh, that's true. His Season 21 episodes probably aired on...

Re: Monday, May 4, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

They reran Ken’s first game at the end of S25. It was probably also rerun on Daytime Jeopardy (or whatever they called it then) a year after its original airing. I don't think they started doing the daytime run until around the 2012-13 season, when it was listed as a repeat of Jeopardy! They change...

Re: Monday, May 4, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Alex said he was rushing the introduction and getting right to the game. So he knew when it was filmed it would one day be rerun with an introduction by Ken tacked on the beginning so he needed to save time. Amazing. Does this mean that there is a special intro at the beginning of the rerun today? ...

Re: Monday, May 4, 2020 Game Recap and Discussion (SPOILERS)

Jeopardy! posted the opening of the show on their YouTube channel and the video shows the music cues used on the show when it originally aired, so this likely means that they are not dubbing the music. :D I think the video they uploaded is the opening of the rerun airing because it has the original ...

Re: J! and other notable contestants on The Chase (possible J! spoilers)

Someone on Reddit posted that James Holzhauer's episode of "The Chase" is rerunning this Friday at 3 PM Eastern, the same day that James wins Match 2 of the GOAT tournament on Jeopardy!
EDIT: My TV Listings say 3 PM Eastern.

Re: Reruns to start May 4th

Someone I follow on Twitter mentioned he will be on Jeopardy on May 19. His name is Jackie Wong. This is his website: https://www.rockerskating.com/ Incorporating this information with other available information (including alamble's report that the Teachers Tournament will air starting on Memorial...

Re: "Barbara Lowe" 2nd Episode

She did break decorum by arguing judges’ rulings on the fly but we have no idea if others have ever done it and been edited out. When I was on Wheel, a contestant two episodes before mine argued with the judges. They edited it out. Karma got her in the end, as she managed to get to the bonus round ...

Re: "Barbara Lowe" 2nd Episode

Yes. No, Rutter isn’t going to show up at an audition. I was just giving an example of how if Rutter had been a one and done, he could apply under another name and no one would notice. Yeah, I know. No one is known to lose their first game and then get on again under a different name, as Jeff Kirby...

Re: "Barbara Lowe" 2nd Episode

While she broke the rules, I think throwing her in prison is a bit much unless you are referring to her using multiple social security numbers. I just don’t get as bent out of shape about her as everyone else does. The only J rule she broke was having been on other game shows, which I think is a st...

I just saw a picture in the recap thread that Roadgeek Adam linked to showing that "Barbara Lowe" appeared on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? as Barbara Vollick.

Re: Reruns to start May 4th

Jeopardy! tweeted goodbye to Harry Friedman today, which I guess is as good as tweeting goodbye to the rest of Season 36. I think the rest of Season 36 is still going to air. According to sources such as Broadcasting Cable and Hollywood Reporter, when they announced Friedman's retirement, they said...

Re: Reruns to start May 4th

Frankly, James' run might be the easiest sell to fill in the remaining 4-6 weeks, since it's just last season, and he's a highly recognizable name. And, coincidentally or not, they haven't seemed to rerun his episodes on the weekend J!, which basically is cherry-picking other Season 35 episodes. I ...

Re: Reruns to start May 4th

Will the airing of repeats affect the numbering of episodes, I wonder? In Season 1, the show gave the summer reruns new episode numbers, resulting in a 65 episode discrepancy (meaning that, for example, they celebrated their 8,000 show on #8065, but instead of celebrating their 7,000th show on #706...

Re: Season 36 Pre-Emptions

I'd set a recording for tomorrow at 5:00 AM. That's the time they plan to show the Saturday rerun of Jeopardy!, but I'd record it just in case they show yesterday's episode instead. I checked my DVR and at the time they said Jeopardy! would air, the Saturday rerun of Wheel aired (which likely means...

Re: Season 36 Pre-Emptions

And ... WABC-7 NYC didn't run Jeopardy! at the time they said they would, so even with opening a wide window on the DVR, only got the first half of Jeopardy! I'd set a recording for tomorrow at 5:00 AM. That's the time they plan to show the Saturday rerun of Jeopardy!, but I'd record it just in cas...

Re: Reruns to start May 4th

My guess is that they are postponing the Teachers Tournament to May 18-29, so the season can run until June 12. Hopefully, the Teachers Tournament will air at some point. I'm hoping it's not like when Wheel pulled two weeks because one promoted Carnival Cruise Lines and the other promoted Collette ...
