Re: Tuesday, May 6, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Also had no idea Victor Hugo wrote poetry. But the date, "French," and the wording were enough clues to get that DD. Hugo was easier for me to get to than Voltaire. Just think a category called FRENCH POETS should have at least one major French poet who mainly wrote poetry , like Mallarmé, Rimbaud,...

Re: Tuesday, May 6, 2014 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Pre-guessed about 5 or 6 major French poets and then they go and ask for a philosopher and a novelist? ugh. Also - hated the clue in the same category asking you to fill in the blank. As a French Lit major, I've only ever heard that quote in French, "où sont les neiges d'antan?" So it was a stand an...

Instaget FJ!

Instaget FJ. Precalled Artemis, and Zeus was an easy get.

Easy breezy board today, but went 0/5 on Songs of the South and 1/3 for DD.

I distinctly heard the Canadian guy say "Ionescu" then Alex says "Right! Ionesco!", correcting the pronunciation. The guy immediately selects the Daily Double - I was expecting a score adjustment but to my surprise, no! Who speaks Romanian? Is the O pronounced U? Ran several categories then blanked...

This was mostly a good board, but I thought that the clues on Thomas Aquinas and Arthur Schopenhauer were awful. I guessed Kant for Schopenhauer, and could have sworn that I had heard that quote applied to him. Philosopher + pessimism = Schopenhauer. Every time! Really struggled with this board but...

Lach trash: Linda Blair, Prancercise. 5/5 on food movement. Said pyloric valve but I think that would have been ruled correct. Spaced on Galaga- came up with something like Galactiga. Ugh I love that game! These BOD games are exhausting but thrilling to watch. Loved the gasp from the audience when L...

Would have run rhyme time if I had 5 minutes and a pencil.

I thought I had it in the bag with Elizabeth Cady Stanton but no, wrong again on FJ this week.

Pfizer acquired Robitussin, Advil, Chapstick and other consumer healthcare products from Wyeth in 2009. Not surprised that most people don't associate these brands with Pfizer, maker of Lipitor, Celebrex and Viagra.
