Re: Summer Hiatus Challenge 2018--Round 6 Instant Replay (SPOILERS)

The 76-km border question was a toughie - glad I went with my instincts. :D On the other hand, apparently I'm the only one so far to muck up the Revolutionary War battle question. :(

Re: Summer Hiatus Challenge 2018--Round 6 Instant Replay (SPOILERS)

I might not have known the intended answer, but I know 'xylo-' means wood I've got a problem with that question. Unless the intended answer is "metallophone," I think that xylophone should be accepted. Vibraphones have resonator tubes attached, something that wasn't included in the question, and in...

Re: Summer Hiatus Challenge 2018--Round 6 Instant Replay (SPOILERS)

I probably should've had an extra cup of coffee this morning! Got the wrong Coen Brothers movie. And I kept wondering if maybe there was an obscure game called Germ Funding. :D I ultimately figured that one out, but couldn't coax the last two dwarf planets responses out of my brain.

Re: TD 392 - Mini-TD - Q1-Q3 RESULTS

Fwiw, for the IPA question, I said November, which is a correct answer, and it looks like you scored it that way. You posted "December," which would've been a miss. :)

Re: TD 393 - A-B-C

Another clarification, because you mentioned spelling. If any of the words have diacritical marks, may we omit those without penalty? I'm not sure whether there are any, but it might affect which question(s) I try to answer.

Re: Summer Hiatus Challenge 2018--Round 5 Instant Replay (SPOILERS)

For R5D2's 4-pointer, it looks like people are saying either Sundance trance or Sundance entrance (with the stress on the second syllable) I thought of that, but clammed, because neither of those is a perfect rhyme - and I noted I would have given the second of those two answers if it were a rhyme. ...

what killed me was I saw the movie (6 pointer), and for the life of me, can't recall the name!

Oof! Bad neg bait on the 8 pointer. Had I thought of Ricki Lake I would have clammed for sure instead of taking a WAG on Joan Rivers. Bah!
Same here. For me, it was pretty much "name a daytime talk show host who fits the category" - I don't really know who hosts/hosted the game show marathons.

Re: TD 392 - Mini-TD

Just to clarify, for #1, is a band with "The" followed by three words an acceptable response, or would a leading "The" completely disqualify the band from consideration? Basically, if it existed, would "The Sheeps and Drops" be correct? Yeah, I would accept that Had I known that, I could have doubl...
