Re: Monday, December 3, 2012 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

J! didn't air in our area because of a local station's "Adopt-a-thon" held annually around Christmas. And since the game hasn't been posted to the J!-archive yet, could someone post the FJ! clue? This is copied from the Game Show Kingdom: FINAL J! SUBJECT #56: Phrase Origins. This two-word adjectiv...

Re: Reretaken Down

Ooh, great book by Cline. Did you know about the Easter egg contest hidden in the book? Very clever. Assumed there was something in there -- I read it after the contest had been concluded, though. I was happy to figure out the first hidden url to get to the gate and try the first game. I don't know...

Re: Monday, December 3, 2012 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

This thread is crackling tonight with the "That's a moray" and "Plain ol' Texas" wisecracks to give me laughs. I never saw the Kanye/Kelly reversal coming even though I know both versions of "Stronger." It would be a waste of a poll slot to see if anyone answered Kanye or Kelly, so sure I can honor ...

Re: Reretaken Down

One advantage to buying the print edition rather than the e-book: the dust jacket glows in the dark. Of course, most (if not all) e-book readers can be made to glow in the dark as well. I most recently read "Ready Player One," which was fairly entertaining and had an interesting vision of the not-t...

Re: Reretaken Down

RFRM (Request For Reading Material): The reading stack has a few spots open, so I'm taking recommendations on books (no boundaries: fiction, non-fiction, old, new, light, heavy). I'll probably take 5 or 6 candidates, then see what shows up in the 1/2 price bookstores or Powell's. What are yinz all ...

Re: Reretaken Down

Wow, a college football discussion breaks out and I missed it. I was at the aforementioned Florida-Jax State game, though cheering against econ's team. As for yesterday's game.......whew. Great game, now on to beat the Golden Domers. Watched Big Bang on DVR, no sound issues. Wished Penny had said "...

The previous hit for the Bradbury work in the archive goes back to Ken Jennings #72: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=59 in Book Bindings. I guess even the best can have a problem with the title?

I enabled voting for up to four choices in case there was some game savant that knew all four. Checking both Monopoly and Scrabble is fine.

Re: Randomonium $800

If the clue had asked for a second one I probably would have missed with "Clue."

All of the inductees are here: http://www.toyhalloffame.org/toys

I have played with, touched or used all of them although I had to think hardest about whether it was true for Star Wars action figures.

Re: 2011-13 Tournament of Champions Standings (enter at your own risk)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it'll be February. My episode is supposed to air February 27, and I'm pretty sure Alex opened the show with a comment like, "Wasn't that an exciting Tournament of Champions?" It's possible I'm misremembering and he was talking about another tournament, but I think it's ToC. I ...

Re: [#6490] - Friday, November 30, 2012 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

I am easily amused. After Karen gets the $600 correct in Chile just before the DD listen to Alex let her know she is right. I don't know if it's a dub, a quick sorryright or a Senor Wences? Whatever it is it makes me laugh after rewinding and hearing it again several times. Lots of good yell stumper...

Re: [#6489] - Thursday, November 29, 2012 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

It was Last of the Mohicans (Hawk-eye in the clue)...I was also shouting at that one. I had to mentally coin flip-- couldn't really rule out The Deerslayer , either. But my coin worked. Mark, I ruled out The Pathfinder merely by its lower profile; how did you rule out The Deerslayer , which to me f...

Re: 2011-13 Tournament of Champions Standings (enter at your own risk)

News from behind enemy lines: they've already scheduled taping dates. Am I allowed to say when it is? I don't really know how these disclosure things work. I am curious when the tournament is taping and disclosing the dates would not seem to spoil anything. My vote is yes. If you tell us perhaps I'...

Re: [#6489] - Thursday, November 29, 2012 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Jason looked like a runaway winner with the blitz through the "Cue" category to open the match. Cara was having none of that and still would have led entering FJ even if Jason was correct on the Mohicans DD. The Mohicans DD was the only "X" on my scorecard for the night and I made it a doozy losing ...
