Re: Tuesday, October 15, 2013 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

(I do like that little bit, though, as a Fur Elise fan (one of the only pieces I remember from my piano lessons as a teen) and a geography fan (from even longer ago.)) It might also help that this commercial aired during the height of my piano playing days. To this day over 25 years later, whenever...

Backing up to last week for just a second (and perhaps this was already posted). Here is Andrew Westney talking about Jeopardy on WCNC :

Re: Wednesday, September 18, 2013 Game Recap & Discussion [SPOILERS]

Today I learned: "Tallchief" as a dancer gets a "be more specific," but "Gershwin" as a composer is a-ok. I guess Ira was technically a lyricist, but still.

Also, You can give just "Aniston" for the Friends actress for a clue that mentions her father John's first name.

Very interesting/quirky thing-- Jared correctly answered with "Nirvana" two games in a row (although separated by the season break): July 26, 2013; category: "Fantastic 4": "(paraphrased) In Buddhism, this 4th state of being invoves the cessation of suffering, commonly known as this" (What is Nirva...

Re: New old games in the J-Archive

I wanted to do one more year of dates for the 4 and 5-time champs plus special tournaments. I don't have Nov. '92- June '95 and the archive is good enough for '96-present. 1991-1992 Robert Slaven 3/24 - 3/30 Somewhere in a box I have (I SHOULD have) VHS tapes with all of my '92 and '93 appearances ...

Re: City-specific online tests?

Are only Omaha residents eligible for the Omaha audition, or is it open for anyone close by? I think this is the closest they've ever come to Sioux Falls, and there are a bunch of people here I'd recommend to take the test, if they can. (Our airport really don't have cheap flights to anywhere, but e...

Re: 2013 Summer Hiatus Challenge -- Round 1 Instant Replay Thread

I'm not sure we disagree there either. We're actually in complete agreement, I'm pretty sure, but it's fun to argue on the internet. :) My "straight-up correct" comment applied only to the question presented here in the SHC. Anywhere else, it would prompt a "be more specific", or else be counted "s...

Only in the sense that "Roosevelt" is straight-up correct if you've previously made it clear you're talking about Teddy. Jesus makes the quoted response to people who introduced themselves 8 verses earlier by saying "John the Baptist has sent us to you." You mean the people who two verses before th...

Re: Audition Emails

It must have been the tie. Maybe he should offer the tie up for auction. I'm guessing he might find some bidders on this site. Heh. I'd bid on it if I had a show date. My hope would be to wear it on the air. You might never see it, though, since I'd save it for Day 2. Then I'd email Jeff and tell h...
