At the end of DJ alluding to the lock game
Alex: What a great way to start the week!
Kirk: Depends on your point of view you bleeping Canuck!
Material seemed to be unusually basic making the game a buzzer contest.

Apollo -> the Sun -> the Sun King -> Louis XIV, the longest-reigning monarch in European history. He lived so long that his successor, Louis XV, was his great-grandson.

Instrumental Rockers threw me. I didn't know they wanted the instrument, so I said "Cream" on $200. Is it SO freaking hard to EXPLAIN?!? I went 0/5 in the category.
Got only $200 and $1000 in Mangia! No idea where gnocchi came from, other than my affinity for weird-sounding words. Held off on alfredo as too obvious, no clue on the other two.
NHO the bottom two Cats proverbs. I said "blind" on $800.
Should've gone 4/5 on Curtains, but I saw no way to figure out $400 was shower, brain-farted the next two, and said Iron on $1000.
0/5 on Famous Names. Misread the Zuckerberg clue, so I thought it was someone meeting him.
Evergreen State was there but wouldn't come out.
4/5 in Call Triple A, missing only charlatan, but got only 3 other right. Clammed on Madison County, Vatican, India, and Mandarin, and blanked on Louvre.
"This 17th century king—" "No clue." Heard of Louis XIV = Sun King, but couldn't piece it together.

The guy who won seems extremely sharp, but he's got to drop this hipsterish "J" affectation. I kept thinking of that soap opera actor A Martinez.

If I had 50 cents for every math question I got right, I'd have $6.30 by now.

I've got to recognize when I've locked myself into a dead end in FJ!. Wound up with nothing because I figured it'd be a king with an interest in astronomy.
3/5 Cats. Said black instead of gray for $800 and had my head in the gutter for the $1,000 clue and thought that a cat in heat caught no mice.
4/5 Asian Languages (Persian instead of Hebrew), as well. I figured it'd be a category about East Asian languages specifically, being a part of the world I'm interested in, but I was able to rebound quickly when I realized it was broader than that.

Well, my FJ streak remains intact. Apollo = Sun god= Louis Quatorze. Near-insta.
Kirk, I'm almost relieved you missed it and J got it, that means your brain cramp on "Castaway" didn't cost you the game. I just sensed you had it rattling around in your grey crevasses, just couldn't spelunk it out.
Yeah, I was starting to wonder about J's sleeve adjustment after each response. I wonder if he plays pro baseball? Their batting gloves never seem to hold their fit for more than one pitch.
Between boards, a producer should've approached him with a stapler. "Want me to tack those down to your wrists?"

Plus he dissed Trebek and got away with it. I thought he was going to be toast.
Sorry to see you go, Kirk. Hopefully you enjoyed your day in the Sun King. Ouch, that was terrible ...
