I like this one a lot because it's a new spin on a Pavlov with a reverse approach to the image.

NHO of System of a Down, but got it from the alternate TOM. Prior to your clue, the only song I knew whose title was also an Asian food dish was Sukiyaki (which, BTW, is a beautiful song, probably familiar to many who don't know its name).
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

Good fact to work with, but I'd say Spanish painter -> Picasso is way too easy for a FJ. I might say something like:
Now 99 years old, watercolor artist Françoise Gilot is well known for her affair with this man 40 years her senior.

Nice, I came up with it without having ever heard of such a thing (which I assume was the intent). I spelled it with the same final five letters (instead of four) as the similar tool; I'd hope that letter is enough of a schwa that I'd get away with it.cheezguyty wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 6:11 pm UNUSUAL OBJECTS

After ruling out "smartphone" for having 10 letters, I was able to get there. Very cool clue!

In my previous life, when I was a mail carrier, I had one route that had some deliveries on State Line Road, where the houses were on the Kansas side. (This was deep in the country, south of the southernmost point of Kansas City itself.)Foretopman wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 8:46 pmLifelong Chicogoan here. Pretty much an instaget for me. I've visited KC once (without coming near the road in question). Also, I'm pretty sure (but can't provide evidence right now) that those are not the only two instances of a road with that name.opusthepenguin wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 1:56 pmI got it because I live here, but I'd predict a low get rate without a lot more TOM.Spoiler
Also, I wonder about saying it's "in" Kansas City. At least according to Google Maps, the actual state line runs down the middle of the road. So the east side is in KCMO but west side is in KCK or Westwood or Mission Hills or Prairie Village or Leawood depending on how far south you are.

Nice FJ. A bit of deep dive, but plenty of bread crumb trail to make the connection in time. Brought back to mind this recent FJ:
