Wrong year for the US film, but as it turns out, there was an Australian feature film based on the same play. Though I'm not sure it would qualify as a classic.

Did you mean their shortest commute is over 600 miles? Because going from LA to NY is way more than that.

If a team has a 600 mile commute to another team, doesn't it also follow that "another team" has a 600 mile commute to that first "team"? I'm confused. What is your source on this?

No. Just has to do with isolation. Say in the NBA Atlanta's shortest commute is Orlando, but Orlando's is Miami (no idea if this is true, just an example).

That being said, Denver to SLC is MUCH less than 600 miles.

This is indeed baffling but my best guess at the intention was "two teams have a commute of over 600 miles to every team in the same league"

Meaning the Seattle Seahawks are at least 600 miles from every other NFL team and the Seattle Mariners are at least 600 miles from every other MLB team. Both would be to the Bay Area.

I also don't see Denver being the most isolated NBA team, over Portland. Using either air miles or driving distance, Portland to Sacramento is further than Denver to Salt Lake City. So maybe I'm still not seeing the intent here.

I like 'isolated', and I think we can let the category do some more lifting... How about this tack...

BIG FOUR SPORTS GEOGRAPHY
With their closest possible opponents over 600 miles away, the two most isolated teams both call this city home
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

I guess I should start this off with working 7 days and close to 60 hours a week isn't doing me any favors...

I split my time between three computers and a phone, also not helpful in the writing process.

My big crime here was not having more time to post this, and quickly doing a copy/paste of an earlier version of the question as I was writing it to try and make it make sense.

I'm really sorry to everyone for that, you deserve better writing from me.

That said, Volante put it perfectly in a much shorter sentence then I was ever going to come up with:

BIG FOUR SPORTS GEOGRAPHY
With their closest possible opponents over 600 miles away, the two most isolated teams both call this city home

Which of course works for a Jeopardy clue, but I was writing this for use at an upcoming trivia night.

My last version (the one I wanted to share with you) isn't on the computer I'm on right now, so maybe later.

MLB: Mariners 680 miles, Rockies 560 miles
NBA: Trailblazers 480 miles, Nuggets 370 miles
NFL: Seahawks 680 miles, Broncos 560 miles
NHL: Avalanche 590 miles, Stars 550 miles

so Denver teams are 2nd for 3 of 4 leagues, and 1st in the 4th

here's hoping I wrote this properly...
Total game show career losings = $171,522
