Mon: Ruby Tuesday was instant.

Wed: I guessed T.S. Eliot.
Thu: I got Edward after briefly considering Henry.
Fri: I guessed ejection seat.
I got 144 clues right and 21 clues wrong for the week.

When I was trying to remember how I did this week after missing Friday, I had no idea it was this bad.

Monday: What is "Ruby Tuesday?" I wasn't sure the restaurant chain was named after a song, I was less sure who the song was by, and had to work out whether they wanted the restaurant chain (I would have added an S to the end if so, so I'm glad I didn't fall for that), the song, or the band, but... yeah, I was right. For the record, I'm not sure I've ever been to a Ruby Tuesday, I may have heard the song but wouldn't say for sure either way.
Tuesday: Who are Eve and the serpent?
Wednesday: Who is Lewis Carroll? No idea, desperation guess.
Thursday: What is Edward? Knew it was between Edward and Henry, and decided that Henry VIII was almost certainly crowned.
Friday: What is radar? Also considered ejection seat. I don't see any way to get flight simulator out of that, and would not have thought the flight simulator was invented anywhere close to that early.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

I guessed T. S. Eliot on Wednesday, and was thinking of a falcon on the Athena clue for some reason.

Once, I think. In California out Calabasas way, in 2000. It's apparently not there any more.
Heard of the song "Ruby Tuesday"
Omit the word "of" and it's still true.
Been to Costco
I'm a current member. Love that place.
Guessed Adam & Eve
Guessed the ONLY correct response: The woman and the serpent.
Guessed parachute
It was the only thing I could think of. At the last second I thought "fire extinguisher" but didn't have time to change. If I'd thought of attitude indicator or altimeter, I'd have switched immediately. I'm not as sure about ejector seat. I associate those with jets, not prop planes. But then I associate the flight simulator with computers, so my instincts aren't reliable on this clue.

Shows my weaknesses on literature and monarchs that I clammed on both Wed and Thu. Went radar for Friday but no clue otherwise.

No answer on Mon. I've heard of Ruby Tuesday, but have never been to one. Never been to Costco.
Synchronization gear on Friday.

Immediately went for Cain and Abel, never considered Eve and the serpent and felt stupid afterward.
Went with TS Eliot but was pretty sure the years didn't work, but didn't have a better guess
First thought of parachute on Friday, but knew it wasn't a machine. switched to radar to put something down, but thought 1929 was too early and that the work was done in the UK anyway.

Somehow knew the Rolling Stones was the band, but couldn't place the song or the restaurant. Don't think I've ever been in one, but there are so many places in the suburbs like it that we go to when I visit my family...Who can be sure?
Thought of TS Eliot first on Wed, but I knew he wasn't old enough. Henry James was the only other choice.
Grateful for an easy monarchy clue on Thurs...
I still think ejector seat is more likely... :o
I should remember that thing about Athena by now...

Adam & Eve, no guess, no guess, no guess.

Mon: Instaget.
Tue: I thought the word 'trouble' was leading me to Cain & Abel, so a WAG for that.
Wed: No clue, I said Dickens just to say something.
Thu: My huge weakness is European Monarchs. Quick, guess a monarch's name... Henry.
Fri: I said Radar.

I think any response to Friday's FJ had to be a guess, it's too obscure a fact to actually know. But guessing it right doesn't seem too easy. It wasn't on my radar.

I think it says something when, after 75 respondents, a clue has not had a single vote. I guessed helicopter just to have something.

If you had asked me to list every restaurant chain I had ever heard of, I might have come up with upwards of 250 and still not remembered Ruby Tuesday. But when the response was revealed, I think it rang some vague bell somewhere in the back of my brain. I have never eaten there; I have never seen one. I know the song quite well, though, but was never going to come up with it from that angle.

And, I was really pissed that the category was "Rock and Roll", because that usually means slam-dunk for me.
