Spoiler
Who is Juliette Gordon Low? Rebecca said "the founder of the Girl Scouts", which is correct, but "we needed the name", says Alex; Austin said Johnson.

Boy, Jeopardy! loves it some Juliette Gordon Lowe, her name has come up many times on the show in the last few years (5 times in the last 3 years, counting today, according to the Archive), I would suggest she be on your radar if you get The Call. (Her name often escapes me, possibly because of my lack of American-ness, but it was just within reach today because of a show from a year ago (HEARING IMPAIRED PEOPLE $400) that was the Daytime Jeopardy episode just on Tuesday.)

No kidding. First she gets credit for just Tuskegee and then she makes a horrendous wager in FJ.Bamaman wrote:Instaget for me on FJ. I really wish Austin had gotten it right.

Has a female contestant ever worn a hat on the show before? Looked rather striking even beore I realized it was for a purpose.
I thought 1920s Slang was very Sheldon Cooperesque, especially with the stand-and-stare at $200 (can we poll that one?). Bee's knees was the only one I knew.
3/5 in Disney Movies. NHO the live-action ones in that category (Parent Trap, Computer Wore Tennis Shoes).
Ran Throwing Shade, surprisingly.
What led to "rhinoceros" on Black for $200? I almost WAGged "bull" from a vaguely Hispanic sounding name, "bicornis", and "charge". Ended up 0/5 in the category, because nothing else had an iota of recognition.
Juxtaposition was my only miss in "Ux".
Had Byron down as an 0/5 as soon as it came up. Yep, that one wasn't happening.
0/5 in Blacklist. I had "House Un-American _____" at $400.
Clammed on Fort Laramie as I thought it was two easy after four consecutive Sites that I was totally clueless on. Football HOF = Canton seemed undervalued at $400.
Wordsworth/Turdsworth was a funny clue, but I also thought it was rather Sheldon Cooperesque.
Lach Trash: Gryphon. Ended up with a run in the monster category.
No guess on FJ! Even when Alex said "Founder of the Girl Scouts" was right, I was clueless. I know the name Juliette Gordon Low because I've seen it a billion times, but it never surfaced even when Alex said that. I almost wondered if maybe it was whoever founded the DAR. That's the fourth time this week that I've fluffed a gettable FJ!

Has any contestant worn a hat on the show before? Not just a yarmulke.
Champ's wager makes it easy not root for her next show. And this after a proper wager last game. Wonder if she just lucked into a good wager yesterday or made a horrible math error this game.

This was another good game for Laura. The contestant Austin Roberts shares his name with a singer who had a couple of big U.S. hits in the 1970s: "Rocky" and "Something's Wrong With Me." I had 34 correct responses including two triple stumpers: racehorses and Virgin Islands. For FJ, I knew that the correct response was the name of the founder of the Girl Scouts, but I couldn't think of her name.

There was an older black lady who wore a hat on the show a few years ago, looked quite charming.

I was wondering if they actually discourage hats on the show (excepting religious reasons of course) but I do remember the example you're talking about. (Myself, I don't like wearing any kind of hat, so that's not something I have to worry about)Bamaman wrote:There was an older black lady who wore a hat on the show a few years ago, looked quite charming.

In yesterday's game thread a friend of Laura commented that she studied wagering. Well we have to wait till tomorrow.Golf wrote:Image of Sheldon Cooper knocking on the door....cf1140 wrote:Sarah McNitt.

Rebecca was in an audition with me, back in May of 2013. Maggie was quite taken with the hat.
Teems with quiet fun.

Wagering $4000 is an excellent strategy that hasn't failed me yet.

I knew the FJ answer... except for the name, of course.
Poor Rebecca looked like she was trying to strangle the signaling device --- and I found the hat charming.

They also seem to have a fixation with Barack Obama. Two consecutive FJ clues related to him.dhkendall wrote:Boy, Jeopardy! loves it some Juliette Gordon Lowe, her name has come up many times on the show in the last few years (5 times in the last 3 years
