They need to see if it will fit on Johnny's card. Mine won't.

I left mine blank, that'll fit on Johnny's card, but they'll need more. (Left blank mainly because I'm between jobs right now and wont know what I am when The Email comes.)

Outlander (NHOI)
Matisse (said Christo, I have no idea why)
Hozier (NHOH, guessed Rihanna)

Guesses:
Scandal (90-95% sure, but not positive)
Forum (same)
Medal of Honor (torn between that and purple heart)
Graphics (was torn between this and Graphical. Maybe it wouldn't have mattered?)
As You Like it (75%)
Utah (90-95%)
ISIS (90% ISIS, 10% Al-Qaeda)
Preposition (60% preposition, 40% adverb)

Almost screwed it up for no good reason:
Notre Dame (somehow misread "South Bend" as "Notre Dame," had St Mary's written down when I got another look at the clue and fixed it)

Clearly should have read recent events thread.

My performance on these tests is getting worse each year, instead of better. So it doesn't really matter what I put as an occupation; that Email ain't comin' anytime soon.

Is there any reason why St Marys wouldn't be just as correct as Notre dame?

Just a note - this might be true, or it might be that they do some screening before (or instead of) the random draw for each audition city. Here's part of the email I got:
Only those who passed the test will qualify for an invitation to the auditions.
Depending on the number of available appointments, a random selection process may be implemented.
Audition invitations will be offered until all available appointments are filled and confirmed.
Note "may be implemented" - leaves open the second possibility I mentioned.

A couple of helps on the bolded:

As noted on the 4/2 episode of J!, the Purple Heart is "awarded to all U.S. service personnel who suffer a wound requiring a medical officer." It's actually a pretty common award and requires no particular valor (aside from joining the military, of course).

Prepositions indicate direction. If it logically fits in the statement "the mouse went _________ the box," it's a preposition. Adverbs describe verbs, adjectives and other adverbs. They usually (there's one!) but not always (proving my point!) end in -ly.
Sprinkles are for winners.

Inside and between are not adverbs. Only preposition is correct.

According to which dictionary? The two that I consulted say both can be adverbs.

OED says both can be prepositions and adverbs (and, fwiw, nouns - though the use of "between" as a noun seems to be rare).

Its official name is St. Mary's College, and the question asked for "this university". Picky distinction, but it might cost you.

Here's how I picture it going, keeping in mind they really don't want or need to spend more time (money) on this than they have to, since they would get their pool filled:

Computer scores test, each audition city's passing scores go into a hopper. If they have fewer passers than they need for any individual city, everyone gets an invite. If they have more passers than slots, they randomly pull the passers and send out an email to enough to fill the slots. After about a week, a few of those invited will decline for various reasons, meaning there are still slots left. Lather, rinse, repeat until all slots are filled.

Really, they have no need to care if someone got 49 and no invite vs. someone who got 35 and was invited. By the time the rest of the process is done, the pool is at the high-water mark and this is when they really take the time and make the effort to pick and choose one person over another to be on the show.

Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

That's okay, I was thinking IUSB. Back in college, we made a road trip there for the women's basketball team (I was statistician\team manager). The one year we got to South Bend just as the sun was rising right after it had snowed. Nothing but pristine snow between the road and the golden dome of Notre Dame with the sun on the other side of our coach (okay, so there were some cross-country skiers right next to the road...). It was gorgeous. Still, remembering that, it made me wonder if they'd accept IUSB, but I still would've put Notre Dame.

It means something in an intermediate position. One of the illustrative quotations is from The Winter's Tale, "There is nothing (in the betweene) but stealing, fighting." Also, in a technical sense, it's a size of sewing needle.

Just took this via the video. Score 43. Very easy test.

What I got wrong:
1. blank but i would have guessed Highlander instead of Outlander and this is nothing I know about.
13. Chaplin which I knew was wrong but at least not blank
23. Much Ado About Nothing which I thought was too long to ask a million people to type but As You LIke It isn't much shorter now, is it?
26. blank for Howzier who I've seen on tv and i knew i wouldn't know it fast enough and any other guess woulda been wrong so I didn't bother.
36. Riga, ok a guess that was wrong and I was pretty sure it was wrong. at least not blank.
40. Beethoven for Bach . ok same as above.
48. Avengers for X-Men. at least not blank.

2 blanks

This score of 43 is a whole lot better than I got on the official test I took on Thursday, where I got 38...37 if i'm not lucky.

For taking a video test, I just open the video in a window on the left and Excel on the right and start typing. Enter to go to the next row. mark the wrong ones with X in column B. Considered putting the video on TV via Chromecast but thought better of it. Maybe next time video on top of screen and Excel on bottom to simulate the real online test layout.
