Greg is looking more formidable with each episode. Curious to see how far he goes.

For FJ, "Wayne's World" leapt instantly to mind. I'm glad I didn't over think it, because I think I would have been seduced by "The Coneheads."

Er, okay, that last phrase sounds pretty weird, eh? :-)

I immediately resolved it to be a complete toss up between Wayne's World and Coneheads. I couldn't remember whether the latter came out before or after WW, so I'm not going to give myself credit for getting this one.

Same here. I would have been peeved at Alex if I was one of those contestants.

Salvatore certainly muffed that first Two Syllable, Two Syllable clue.

Dani went with a 'nice tidy number' for her FJ wager, as opposed to a 'nice round number' resulting sum. Had Salvatore wagered a 'nice tidy' $5000 he would have taken second place away from her.

$24,200 seems to be a good number for Greg.

Ran "BB".

Lach Trash on "quibble", "seveth heaven".

Loved the Puss in Boots category.

I got only $200 in Back of the Bill. I've handled way too little money lately, so most of it has evaporated from my mind.

"Well, the only mountain I know of in Alaska is McKinley, but that's not named for a politician!"

NHO Stone Mountain.

WLT Israel on Where Ya From? for $400?

Judges: "Standing around" for "hanging around" on 2 Syllables for $1200?

Blanked on Berlin. Somehow all I could think of was Geneva.

Almost put down "It's Pat" as a joke until Wayne's World came to mind about 3/4 of the way through the think music.

That's what I had, but I forget how the clue read, so it might have to have been a specific response.

The clue pinned the response by requiring it to be on the LAPD web site.

The "hit" part immediately made me think that the writers were asking for trouble. What is a "hit"? I guess if there were no other SNL movies in that time it works.

any Simpsons fans have a problem with the Monte Burns response?

Which I think is a terribly obscure way to pin a clue. There could be several dozen "close but no cigar" guesses unless you happen to have visited that random site.

I knew that as soon as the correct response was given. "Oh yeah, duh, the President."

My only problem with it was that Alex hesitated making it seem like "Burns" wasn't enough, in a category that gave you the "MONTY OR MONTGOMERY". (The character has been called by both names on the show.)

Only a moron wouldn't cast his vote for Monty Burns.

I thought Newcastle, Nova Scotia, and mandate were easy.

I too took the FJ negbait on Coneheads.
I'd rather cuddle then have sex. If you're into grammar, you'll understand.

I actually agree (and I said "standing around." Then again, the contestant got it, so maybe it's not that obscure.

Take off eh...what am I missing about the FJ answer...could have sworn it was 'Strange Brew' 1983. Maybe I am the only one who saw it.

I agree that the word "hit" is vague/ambiguous, However it would only be relevant if there were a film in between Blues Brothers and Wayne's World.

I was surprised to learn that Coneheads came after Wayne's World - clearly J's definition of "hit" doesn't matter for that reason - but I still wouldn't have guessed Coneheads because I don't believe it was a hit by anybody's definition...

That was based on an "SCTV" sketch, not a "Saturday Night Live" sketch.

Yeah. I briefly considered "The Jerk" until I realized that was based on a Steve Martin bit that was non-SNL.
