How much time are they given? I'm not bragging, because I get caught up in wrong trains of thought as much as anyone, but I happened to get on the right train for this one in less than 5 seconds.MarkBarrett wrote:It's been a while since I posted one and I enjoyed this one:

I actually got that from different means:
Hey, a right answer by a wrong method is still a right answer!

I thought it was a chain and guessed the correct sign because it would be next in the chain (looping to the first symbol at that point). Alternately, it's the only sign that was already used, and there was no reason to think there was a need to introduce a new one for the solution.

OK, I'll ask a youngster. I'm supposed to ask this youngster what, again? If I have something around? What is it I'm supposed to have around? And how would the youngster know if I don't know? (And I don't mean 'how would the youngster know whether or not I know'.)MarkBarrett wrote:You can also try asking a youngster if you have one around.

My fail was not processing "greater than" as "beats". Bad form.

Also, going back to Page 1, I also guessed the knocker for the 'starts off silently' one because when you pull it back at first it's silent.

Hence "the equivalent of".Volante wrote:They're not trivia questions, they're brain teasers.MitchO wrote:I hate this show. I feel like it's the equivalent of enabling bad trivia questions.
But to try to elaborate ... most of us who are use Facebook nowadays are probably subjected to that one friend/relative who posts the inane "Name a city that starts with 0", watch hundreds of people put things like Oberlin, only for the "gotcha" to be that it's actually a zero, not the letter O. Or that old "There are three words in the dictionary that end in -gry ... blah blah blah name the third word" where it ends up being "three" because it's the third word in the sentence. They're not even using clever twists of the English language, they're making awkward leaps.
But hey, I randomly came in here and pooped on something y'all were enjoying, so I apologize for that. Just had to be one of *those* citizens of the internet and express my opinion.

Re: Fun With Idiotest
I got it (the latest puzzle) by thinking it was sign language, and making the images with my hand, and...voila! It's RPS; took 3 seconds. I so want to add Lizard, Spock. The Vulcan sign is perfect for Spock, but what is the sign for Lizard?
PS. Saw this show by accident once; I think I'll look it up again. Wasn't that fond of the format, but the purer form of it you present in this thread makes it a very interesting challenge. Thanks!
