My sincerest apologies.

If I had 50 cents for every math question I got right, I'd have $6.30 by now.

Hallelujah! I don't know how many times I was trying to load this page the past 24 hours. :P

A sincere thank you to you, Brian, for keeping things running so smoothly on this board, and when they don't run smoothly, making sure they do so again.

Huzzah! I didn't realize anything was amiss until this afternoon and was becoming obsessed with the idea of lonely penguins, cats, and other trivia enthusiasts alone and isolated....

I'm going to pretend like I didn't notice and I only accidentally stumbled back on-line within an hour of it coming back.
Or, I'll actually admit I missed it and sympathized mightily for the poor soul who has to deal with the series of tubes and pipes that make up the internets (to paraphrase Ted Stevens and GWBush). Thanks from the peanut gallery!

WOOHOO!!!! I don't post as much as many others, but now I know how much I like to look in over a day and a half and how much of hole is left when I can't. Thank you for this site.

Yay, thanks! It's crazy how much the j-archive has become a part of my life now, I didn't really appreciate it until it was down.

I blame the confluence of the Snow Moon, the penumbral lunar eclipse, and the comet transiting the Moon for what happened.

Me too. The site went down right as I was submitting a post, so my paranoia kicked in and I thought maybe I did something, or I was insta-banned afterwards for some reason.

Glad to see nothing like that was the case.

Brian, at the risk of sounding overly geeky, what exactly was the problem? From my end, it looked as if DNS resolution was failing (trying to resolve the name actually generated a segmentation fault in dig, something that I'd never before seen). Alas, so hadn't committed the IP addy of your server to memory to check that idea out.
