LL BWA Entries

Post by alietr »

Besides having my issues with Thorsten's BWA selections, I'm never willing to give away an answer that I know in order to make a BWA attempt. So I'm starting this thread for people to post their BWAs without having to give up the points. Have at it!

(But please, do not post on the current day's match.)

Why is a separate thread needed for this, can't this just be part of the LL## thread?

Nevertheless ... for the Catholic fraternal service organization, I would have said Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes.

(I don't read the message boards on LL very much.)

The LL site has over 8000 potential readers. We're a smaller group here that can chat more informally.

For the Shaw question, I used, "Dude, Where's My Car?"

Excellent one, econ. I almost never submit a BWA attempt as I'm gamely trying to come up with the actual answer but this thread will inspire me to dream up some BWAs just for the purposes of posting here (take that, dhk!)

As a 3rd degree member, I LOLd at this. It's definitely not an organization with a lot of young people.

I thought of I am Black, Hear me Roar. But I went with the equally wrong We Shall Overcome.

For the question about The Straight Story, the movie about a man who drives a lawnmower hundreds of miles to see his estranged brother, I wrote "Terms of John Deere-ment".

And of course the ones he chose for the diving question were, in my book, totally devoid of humor.

They were just a little predictable. I giggled at Triple Lindy. :)

For LL73 MD14 Q4:

FOOD/DRINK - Among the six standard meat/tofu items on the menu at the Chipotle Mexican Grill chain, the slow-cooked, seasoned shredded beef option is listed as what term?

My response:

"Beef! It's What's For Dinner! Now, with almost no E. coli!"

Interestingly enough, I think I live in the only part of the free world that doesn't have a Chipotle on every other corner. Having never darkened the door of the restaurant, I felt that this BWA was as good as it was going to get for me on that question.
I'm living proof to show that a good attitude, a Southern accent, a ridiculous beard, and a middling amount of trivia knowledge can get you onto Jeopardy!

On the Chipotle question I answered "Terms of Endearmeat"

Buckner didn't make it for the chess question (blunder). Sigh. I was a lot closer than I thought.
