me too
Consider yourselves lucky, unless you don't get a crack at it tomorrow. I felt like I was playing against James Holzhauer. Going by Jeff's prelim answers, I went 8/10, 2/10, 6/10, 8/10, 6/10 for a 30/50. I said Lake Baikal out loud, but was unsure of the exact syllables/spelling. I just gas piped on the Monopoly one, thought yeah, Atlantic Ave. is on the board. Then, duh, so is Pacific, right where they said - too late to change.

So much for the strategy of picking the middle game. Hardest set yet for me. ETA - I have never heard entropy framed thusly, but couldn't use potential or kinetic, was struggling with heat, and went with entropy. Anxious to see the final ruling.

43 for real. On 4 hours sleep and a long day at work... I'll take it!

Edit to add:
Misses
Spoiler
Lamarr (duh. Pulitzer rapper is Pavlov for this, but I couldn't dredge it)
Uncle Vanya (Ironic to miss on this board. I had nuthun)
Goldfinch (I've missed this in several trivia venues. time to learn it)
Dept. of Labor
Argentina (said paraguay... Now I know)
Amos (Aaron comes sooner in the alphabet. It might be a book!)
Glass Men. (was about how much I typed)

44, same as last night's test, with a similar-feeling set of misses split between high culture, pop culture, and "you idiot."

Eyeballing it on Google Maps, it looks like Jamaica is as far south from southern Cuba as Key West is from northern Cuba (and Key West is 90 miles away).

So playing for real, I think I got either a 44 or 45, assuming my typo response of "pooltable of contents" (with "pooltable" as one word) is accepted and that my response of "soup" for "clam chowder" is negged. (The wording of the clue was "This Campbell's product offers 'Tastes of Seaside Coasts'; add some oyster crackers." Query whether, given the inability to receive a BMS prompt, there's an argument for the acceptance of "soup" given that wording and syntax.) On the Monopoly question, I started with Atlantic before realizing that was a yellow property; and I'm not sure if I got all of "Pacific" in before time ran out. I guess if I ended up with Pacifi they'll probs give it to me; but I didn't see what was in the box before it disappeared and I may have had a typo caused by my change of response, possibly ending up with something like "Apacifi."

My other misses besides possibly on the soup and/or Pacific ones:

Jefferson (I'm embarrassed; I said Burr)

Palm Sunday (What can I say? Having been raised Jewish I'm not a good Christian, and it wasn't coming to me in 15 seconds. But I did know the Old Testament prophet. :D)

Everybody Loves Raymond

And oopsie, I have to edit this post again, as I just realized I also negged with Google for Yahoo.

I managed at least 41, 42 if they count my half-typed answer for Buccaneer (not sure how far I was).

I guessed correctly on about ten of them, which doesn't give me a ton of confidence on another test. I only guessed wrong on one.

Pretty good result, all things considered, but also humbling.

After taking the test I thought I did terribly but according to the answers posted I got 37/50, including the last 9 in a row. I feel like I hit on a lot of educated guesses.

ETA: does "scary sherry" rhyme?
Not really, but I think that's what they were looking for. At any rate, that's what I said

Currently arguing with my wife about scary and sherry rhyming (THEY DON'T GODAMMIT)

If you think they do you're one of those weirdos who pronounces Mary, merry, and marry identically!!

Not even a little bit

I would have gotten 37 on this one.

After my 47 last night off the video, I dropped back into my typical range with a 43. I can live with that.

Google Maps has a measurement tool, and I came up with ~90 miles from the southern coast of Cuba to the northern coast of Jamaica.

37 for me. I felt worse than that score. Yeesh, that was rough.

Blanking on Kendrick Lamar is a personal failure for me.

37 playing off the video. It felt easier to me, but if you add in the pressure of taking it for real then I may have dropped to the same score that I got last night (34).

41 for fun, about the same as last night (for realz), but this felt like a slog

Not taking credit for Uncle Vanya because it came to me at the last possible second. Terrible to miss a theatre question AND the French question

Crying foul on "scary sherry", but taking the points

Those who complained about the preponderance of literature and the arts on last night's test won't have much to celebrate tonight.

Ooh, we've got a good ol'-fashioned accent-off! For those who say scary and sherry don't rhyme, how do you say them? This reminds me of the time someone told me the names Erin and Aaron shouldn't be pronounced the same (the former is supposed to be more like "ehh-rin" and the latter "air-on," this person claims, but I've never heard them said that way IRL or on TV).

I got a 41 on the West Palm Beach test, and an abysmal 25 last night. I took it for real tonight and got 34 legitimately. I typed "goldfinc" as time ran out, so I don't know if that one will count. If so, I squeaked by with a 35. I'm guessing "Reuben" will be negged without the S, even if they give me a pass on the extra E.
