Post by Peachbox »

3. Wrong answers count for the SHEEP (most common answer) + 3 points. No penalty for a wrong guess on a bonus Q.

There was a line to submit my user name.

The form accepted all of my answers without an error of one of the blanks only accepting a number.

Don't you know how to run one of these things? ;)

Thanks for the game.

My scholarship on women in the military on film is serving me well so far - True Colors: The Nancy Wake Story is a made-for-TV Australian film about her (she was actually in the British Wrens and attached to the SOE), and Seven Beauties is an Italian film that features a woman in the German Army. I am sure it'll be downhill from here, but I'm happy now!

Local knowledge got me the Black Bart singleton... Some folks in Concord, CA have always claimed that Mr. Bart taught school here for a couple years before starting his second career as a stage robber. Not really substantiated claims, mind you...

But some thought the claims were good enough to hold an annual Black Bart Festival and Parade. This lasted a few years in the late 60's to mid-70's before flopping, like almost everything interesting does in this rather dull town (city now, over 130k here, but still pretty darned dull).

Maybe a late-night street noisy car racing museum would do well... That's a nightly occurrence around here.

Of course, as usual for me in TD's, my glorious moment in first place lasted until the first movie question immediately following...

The answers to this question will follow that pattern –- duck duck goose. Identify one; no letter needed.

A duck and a drake were featured in this episode of Schoolhouse Rock Conjunction Junction
Strictly speaking, the answer to this question does not fit the pattern duck duck goose. That confused me for a good long while. Once I realized what you were going for, I took a chance that would make it worth fewer points. Seems to have worked out.

I don't play these very often, but I'm scoring pretty good here. That miss on Q2 is going to sting.

It's a good thing I've already used my drop
Two sheep and a co-sheep out of the other four questions. I know better than to answer the sports questions, but one of these times everyone else will think that way too and I'll get a singleton!

That was mighty kind of you, but Juan de Fuca wasn't as holy as I thought. I have zero chance of finding my way to the podium, otherwise I might encourage you to hit me with a 'wrong' on that one.

A fair point; I should have reworded it to "questions or answers" following the pattern.
