(I also notice it on sugar-free gum.) Except I mentally parsed it as phenyl - keto - neuria (with an 'e') rather than phenyl - keto - uria (with an 'n' as a separator), but it was still accepted.
Perhaps it was specific to my time and place, but I recall in gradeschool all of us being given a test for PKU that consisted of tasting a solution. If it tasted bitter, you were free of PKU.

My greatest achievement this season is leading my rundle in both CAA (108, next is 100) and TPA (156, next is 144).

I liked yesterday's set and got all six right.

On the subject of those statistical achievements: BackesER is leading his rundle by a longshot in correct answers given (96 to 62), total match points earned (127 to 84), and match points differential (60 to 27), and yet he will almost assuredly finish no higher than second place (13-6-2 record against the leader's 17-3-1 with four matches to go).

On that note, you might want to check out DominicisE, who is leading the Maso standings in our League by a wide margin over the redoubtable bomtr and yet is in 4th place in our Rundle right now. I will withhold any further commentary on the situation

That's *De* DominicisE. It's a good thing I know bomtr's real name, or I'd have been stuck.

With 91 TCA as a Rookie and getting sent to D Rundle, this was a predictable outcome. And his poor luck from his first season continues, as you noted he has a massive lead in TCA with at least 50% more than every other player, and not only isn't in 1st, his position to earn promotion with a top 3 finish is far from safe.

Meanwhile Mr. FrankJ is sitting pretty at the top of A Fjord with a four point lead. Good luck, Jeff!

There is someone in our rundle in a similar situation.

I don't know if its bad luck or bad defense but BackesER has no match days with less correct answers than his opponents and is 0-6-1 when getting the same # of correct answers. Ouch.

It looks like he has an extremely low OE (the lowest in the Rundle by a decent margin), so it’s probably a combination of bad luck and being extremely easy to defend.

They took out the "This is Macdonald Carey and these are the days of our lives" line, but otherwise it is pretty much unchanged from 40+ years ago.

Remember when Socrates voiced this truth in ancient Greek in the first "Bill and Ted"? One of the latter pair had just observed that all we are is dust in the wind.

Well, now, this is interesting. Going into the last three days of the season, there is a tie for points for second/third/fourth in my rundle with only MPD separating them. There are three more tied at 5/6/7 two points back. So depending on results, there could be a lot of movement in the last three match days.

Must've got to it at just the right (wrong?) time.
I am genuinely curious which arcade basketball master it is. I have known one for well over 30 years, and was Facebook friends with him until his FB turned into 24/7 allegiance for a certain Chief Executive.

Definitely not the one I know. This is the one I know: https://youtu.be/z72Q4FBfLuM At the very least, this skill got him on Kimmel and Steve Harvey's talent/variety show that was on the CW about 15 years ago. He is still in the basketball industry; his father and older brother have been statisticians for the Cleveland Cavaliers for at least 15 years as well.

I went the wrong way between Road Rules and Real World, but still won 5(3)-3(2). I am still in the relegation zone to go back to D, but I am tied in points with the lowest ranking person in my rundle who is above it. The last two MDs will be agonizing!

Solidly in the middle of my rundle despite good defense and one of my best qpcts- mostly due to outrageously low offensive efficiency (i.e. my opponents have almost perfect defense every day). Defense is easier if your opponent has clear good and bad categories. I'm not sure why this season people figured me out just as my performance in weak categories improved.

With no championship to play for, or relegation to avoid, my goal is to hit an arbitrary number. Get 15 right the last 3 days and I have 120 right for the season, better than I've ever done. Getting 4 right and losing to PrussC yesterday has made this a harder task... Congrats Cyndi.
