It's not like Missouri doesn't have at least three prominent cities beginning with "St." Is this the new OxCam?

~22 years doesn't sound reasonable to you?
Hardly. The average retirement age according to the Census Bureau is 63, so unless life expectancy has really gone way up, they're about 5-7 years too high.

Keep in mind that by the time you reach age 63, on average, your overall life expectancy is higher than it was at birth.

The age at which your life expectancy is 22 more years is 59 for men and 63 for women. So I guess the clue was aimed at women... :D

Calling St. Joe a prominent city is a bit of a stretch. :)

Some miseducation right there.

1001 Arabian Nights for me.

And a rare wagering comment from me, even if tangential: very glad the $5,000.00 wager didn't backfire when she could have easily (and, I think legitimately) gone with $5.00

Been a while since the last $5 wager, too. It's always too long between $5 wagers.
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

For some reason I blank on "elephant seal" every time it comes up. I know too many types of seals and just can't sort through them in time.

Ended up skunking the 8,000 category. Also 0/5 in Adaptations.

"Easter" was HUGE negbait on Day for $200. Alex didn't specify that the correct response had to end in Y.

Magic Treehouse was my only NHOI in Children's Books.

I thought "Jigsaw" was obscure for the top box.

All but "velcro" in "Cro". Just couldn't come up with anything that was modern and had a "cro" in it. Almost WAGged "crochet".

Can't say that I've heard of Lauryn Hill before.

Syria? Something composite? Uhhh.... 1001 Nights? Yeah, sure, let's go with that. I actually said "Arabian Nights", but some English translations do seem to use that name so I assume it would be accepted.

Lach Trash: chock, names
the category was "a day ending in y"...now if you had said easter sunday, then maybe you could make a case for negbait, but you just said eastern in your post, so really not negbait

Life expectancy of people who have any retirement savings is longer.

Any way I'd get credit for "wedge" for the clue whose correct response was "chock"?

Almost surely true, but have there been studies done on this?

Mark me down as another ruby yacht. 1,001 Nights never occurred to me, or else I'd have gone with it.

The clue said "this block wedged under a wheel..." so I doubt they'd accept it.

I recommend the Pony Express Museum if you're ever in St. Joseph, and the Jesse James home as well.

I was rooting for Kara so it was disheartening to see her blow $7,000 late in double jeopardy. She really didn't need to make that $5,000 Daily Double. Just finding it was enough to secure her lead.

Coincidentally, in the game Myron won the previous day, "rifling" came up in a clue very similar to the one this week.

So I guess if they ask about rifling, it's time to brush up on the Pony Express!
