Nice chat time with Robin to find out her mom (won $500 and encyclopedia) was on Fleming J! and back then "The Call" was telegram.

J! movie plug of the week: Little Women

Yesterday I added this clue from a 2002 game into the archive in INITIALED AUTHORS: His published work: one novel & about 15 short stories, including "Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters"

Today's 2019 game had this clue in LITERATURE: In 2019 his “Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters & Seymour: An Introduction” first came out as an e-book

CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARDS was a basketball category and Robin attempted the $200 clue: Detroit’s Andre Drummond has led the NBA 6 times in these rebounds that come off his own team’s miss

Robin: What are second chance?

Robin earned redemption later getting the $1000 clue to make sure Eric did not run the category.

The FJ! clue was one I better not miss as I have read the relevant book, seen the original film and purchased/ate the candy bar multiple times.

At least Eric took a guess while Jason took the Hammer. Carroll, Doyle, Dickens, Barrie...try someone.

0/3 on DDs kept scores down while if Robin got her DD3 then she would have locked it at 20400 to 9800. It turned out not to matter as Robin had the sole solve.

I've now recalled and rounded up the 1DS in LL with this question:

What is the specific name of the first Wonka bar that Charlie personally purchases in the film? The name was added to the OED in 2016.

I failed to properly recall it in full as I had some kind of -icious at the end of my attempt. The material is a lot easier when that kind of spelling is not required.

Ah well, they're once again reinforcing the stereotype of the Jeopardy superminds who don't know a jump shot from a slap shot.

I should stop commenting until I see the episode...

It was odd to me that she didn't know the proper term for offensive rebounds, but was able to name a 2nd tier famous player (someone I would think only an NBA fan would get).

I'm shocked that FJ was at all difficult. I think the British aspect thru them off, but that word is insta-recognize for me.

Would they have accepted just "Colassus" on the second DD? I got that part, but if he gave me a BMS, I would've been at a loss.

Maybe Jason rejected names who couldn't have been born in 1916...That was my problem...I have actually listened to the audiobook (with the excellent Douglas Hodge) in the last year, but the clue didn't trigger the memory... Yes, another one that seems obvious in retrospect...

Lewis Carroll? Not in 1906... sounds like something from Willy Wonka. must be Roald Dahl, who definitely fits the date. :D

Not if you pronounced it like that.

I matched Eric with my guess. Sounded like some word Winnie the Pooh would have made up.

When I saw Eric's response, I was sure it was right. At least Milne has a plausible 20th Centuryness (though actually born in 1882).

Highly unlikely. "Colossus" is a generic term for a large statue.

Considering she is from Michigan and Draymond went to State...
