That's what I did for E.L. James. I was like "E.L .. E.L .. dammit what is her last name!" And then got even angrier with myself when I remembered how simple it is.talkingaway wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 8:25 pm About two questions later, I yelled it at my comptuer. I don't think TPTB will accept the answer.

Was #8 Standard or Sprint? I immediately went to the ticker symbol but thought it was worded strangely then thought S&P - "Standard" then thought I didn't see "S&P" anywhere... will have to look for the video.
Nvm, definitely "Standard". That's what I get for trying to write down my answers while taking the test and misreading the clue
Still poorly worded IMO

44/50, my best record so far. Missed Libya in favor of Algeria. Potatoes in favor of beets. Panicked and typed "elegize" instead of "eulogize", then realized it as it submitted. Missed Wicked (didn't know, said Frozen), Encyclopedia Britannica (I'm a moron and said Merriam Webster), and the Dodgers (said the Giants).
Feeling pretty good about this one.
Was torn about whether to put Standard or Standards. Thankfully I left it off.

Is just "James" enough for the 50 Shades Q? I couldnt remember the initials, but there are lots of other authors with the last name James (Henry, PD, etc).
If yes, I got 47, tied for my best ever. Could have set a PB if I hadn't changed Libya to Egypt.

47/50 here, I think.
Wrote "centennary," counted that it had ten letters but felt it looked wrong. Realized it was centennial but didn't have time to fix it.
Had no clue on the Texas animal.
Blanked on the Shades of Gray author. It's one I know, but would need a little more time to come up with.

So, um...FORTY-SIX. A new personal best for me. I got almost every one I wasn't sure of -- only misses were Sparta, Rebecca, James and Dali.
I'm so far away from cloud nine, I can't even see it. Cloud nine is a dot to me.

Standard and Poors. I don't think I've ever seen a ticker symbol with an ampersand in it....

49!!!!
Unless they ding me for spelling
(Haaj, Anne Bolyen, McBeth, Dogers -- which was a total WAG, btw -- plus I had to fix a typo on Eulogize and I'm not sure I had time to finish it.)
AND....Pittsburgh is an audition city!

Judges ... "Memoriam" for "Eulogize"? Probably not, huh.

Many thanks as always for the quick answer list. Good luck to everyone else angling for auditions this week!
After the Wicked edit I count 44/50 (had Frozen, grrrr!), but still scored higher tonight than on the college test in October so that's pretty cool. Excited that Providence is an audition city as I'm less than an hour away. Fingers crossed!

Most annoying miss was answering the wrong question on the Bible...concentrated on “him” and thought they were looking for the man and totally overlooked “this book”. Also blanked on a couple and lost a couple of coin tosses. Still, managed 39. We’ll see.

I think I got 44 or 45 this time, assuming all of the listed answers are correct. That would be a record for me.
ETA: Nevermind, it showed up. I was starting to worry.

Yeah, I nearly made that mistake as well. The one time this year where my practice of never clicking submit paid off.

I'm in this boat. I got several questions just from reviewing past tests and games this week. Those were Sagittarius, Macbeth, Missouri, and Dali. Of the ones I already knew, Burr, Thames, and the Battle of the Bulge came up in review material.

I noticed this as well. The J! website also doesn't say "test taken" with a checkmark if you go to your own profile.

I didn't get an email. But I do have the checkmark in my account.FS7 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 8:54 pm I think I got 44 or 45 this time, assuming all of the listed answers are correct. That would be a record for me.
BUT...
Did anybody else get the e-mail saying you've taken it? I didn't get a confirmation and I don't see a check next to the 2020 test. I really don't want to have a record performance and then have something not register.
Fingers crossed that it's just a lag somewhere.
