Natalie talked about her sumo wrestling and it's an easy search on Google to find video.

We may not like Gauravi's wagering for the FJ! round though Vinny has no complaints.

The FJ! clue had triple stumper written all over it and I'll gladly take my 10-8 round over the contestants. My struggle was spelling as I was thinking -ury or -urry while recalling I had come across -erry as well. The combination of previous J! clues and my own picturing of the name in my head over the years were all melding together.

I ended up doing the worst of the acceptable variations to still be correct with a -bery Rules. I was certain Marquis was not necessary though I reread the clue many times to make I did not need the sport or something other than my two words.

Natalie was 0/3 on big clues but still leading and that was not the place to be today.

Judges: Marquess of Queensbury rules acceptable? What about just Marquess of Queensbury? What about Marquis instead of Marquess?

I read the clue as the response needing "rules". From there either Marquis or Marquess are both fine as long as the response includes one of something in the area of Queensbury/Queensberry/Queensburry/Queensbery.

For yours:
1. no doubt
2. no way
3. yes if with #1 and no if with #2

A bit of an off day for me, but I do have a pretty bad cold.

I really struggled on that Country Drop a Letter category. Of course I try every Scandinavian country but Finland...

I know that The Iliad was one of the few things we actually did read in high school, but just like anything else it didn't stick.

"Peerless" means unique? "Matchless" is a word?

Before & After at the Movies for $400 because I was like "well, that's obviously Mary Poppins, but there's no movie that begins with 'Poppins', is there?" I got only the DD.

Presidential Homes was my only 0/5 of the day.

No guess on FJ! The name is not even the tiniest bit familiar to me, and I expect a low get here.

I guess I feel a little better that all three contestants were as completely clueless as I was for FJ!

You know how some things you’ve known so long you just feel like everyone knows them? Yeah. The poor response on Marquees of Queensbury surprised me.

Instaget FJ for this sports fan. I wonder if they recognized the Queensbury rules after the reveal. Not making the leap to boxing or from nobleman to Marquess in 30 seconds isn't that surprising. And neither was Gauravi's wager. *sigh*

I wrote down Marquis of Queensbury rules. I could tell by looking at them they were clueless. I guess Vinny deserved the win for at least trying to guess a sport, even though they didn’t want the sport. Alex’s comments at the end didn’t make it totally clear what they wanted.

We joke about BMS on presidents’ names so I said “Who are Adams and Adams?” for the Massachusetts homes. I have visited the current residence of Polk and his wife so that was an easy one for me. The people who run his home about an hour south of Nashville tried to get him moved a couple years ago, but he stayed put.

Looking back, I see that I totally underthought the Presidents for $400 clue. Froze up after realizing it couldn't be Washington or Jefferson, whose birthplaces are quite well-known. Duh, what other early Presidents would be born in adjacent cabins other than the two who were father and son?

The closest guess I would have had would have been Hoyle's Book of Games, which of course doesn't even refer to a sport.

Anybody else do an impression of Barry Fitzgerald from The Quiet Man whenever they say "Marquess of Queensberry Rules"?

No? Just me?

When I saw the category, I loved it. However, the clue could have been, "The Marquess of Queensberry Rules" apply to this sport, and I still wouldn't have gotten it. I think my range of sports knowledge is higher than the average Jeopardy contestant, but that doesn't extend to boxing.

I'll allow it. I'll also allow "Who is Roosevelt, not Roosevelt?" for the clue about TR. :D
