Have not seen Moana, and even though it occurred to me I dismissed it thinking it was an older movie.

I joined the group associating the cherry tree legend with Washington Irving.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

I don't know about NYC, but I personally was not preempted.

I've thought about reading the Weems Washington bio a couple of times, but it does not actually seem to be available intact online, nor is it something I ever see at the used book store (which in any case isn't as cheap as it used to be). I did find Francis Marion, but in the hearts of his countrymen, he's not even in the top 150 (per ranker.com).

I sort of watched the 1932 Moreau late one night on television. I perked up when the guy started talking about the "house of pain", as it was a bit of a catchphrase among my friends, and wasn't there an NFL team that laid claim to the name for their home field?

I'm surprised this clue proved to be so tough. I've been aware of this bit of trivia as long as I can remember, seems like it was in every popular article I ever read about Washington.

Still angry with Moana for ruining my first chance at a 5 for 5. Never saw it.

Tuesday's and Wednesday's episodes were both postponed here in Nashville, but the cause was tornado and cleanup coverage, not Super Tuesday. And the Tennessee Primary was that day!

I watched the Burt Lancaster version of Dr. Moreau on TV one late night, over forty years ago.
I seem to remember there was some catch phrase that the 'beings' chanted over and over neer the end of the movie.

The FJ clue rang no bells until after it was revealed.
