That was during the College Championship, not regular competition.TenPoundHammer wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 12:38 amLowest I remember is Me and Earl and the Dying Girl polling at 5% in 2018.

No responses for the missed clues. I considered Hillary Clinton, but ruled her out. Allende is a name I know but I couldn't tell you anything about her.
Said emu instead of peacock.
Oh, what has science wrought? I sought only to turn a man into a metal-encased juggernaut of destruction powered by the unknown properties of a mysterious living crystal. How could this have all gone wrong?

NHO Allende, went with Hillary Clinton.
No guess on peacock, like most others.

Re: FJs for the 3/16/20 week
I was looking for something bigger than a territory being returned on Tuesday; I said Yemen (which unified roughly around the same time Germany was reunifying). I said Panama on Thursday. Like one of the contestants I guessed at an emotional support parrot.

Cheezguyty, you around? What's our lowest top-box poll in regular play?
I would be anything that "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl" is lowest in any game since the introduction of this forum.
Can we agree that the peacock clue was horribly misplaced, at least?

Would have been 5/5 but I said Hong Kong instead of China.

Definitely. I think they should have included the word "proud" in there to describe the bird and that would have provided the necessary TOM.TenPoundHammer wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 10:10 pm Can we agree that the peacock clue was horribly misplaced, at least?

Asked to name the country in the "reunification" clue, I couldn't budge my mind out of Europe, where about sixty-eleven countries seem to have split up, unified, reunified, etc. in the past 30 years. Maybe my mind doesn't want to think about China this week.

I suspect that some clues are placed in the top row not so much for their perceived easiness as for the show's reluctance to award too much for trivial knowledge. This Is Kirk! wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 10:37 amDefinitely. I'm smart and I want respect.

Found another extremely low-polling top box in regular play. "Goop.com" was 17% back in 2014.
That seems to be a really tough week for the writers overall, as the Wednesday FJ! polled only 9%, with 63% saying they didn't even have a guess. The highest polled only 64%, and 12% were 0/5 that week. Those latter two HAVE to be records.

The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

Hey, at least I didn't pick Gigi Grazer (13%, btw) this time.Volante wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 3:57 pmWould it be too bold of me to suggest mediation exercises?TenPoundHammer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 3:18 pm Found another extremely low-polling top box in regular play. Re: FJs for the 3/16/20 week
Was thrown off by "reunification" Tuesday (always heard it referred to as a "handover") and ended up with no guess.
Negged with parrot for peacock.
I would prefer not to.
