Thanks for the earworm, writers, with that combo of PHENOMENA & "DEE" DEE DEE-DEE-DEE

No thank you writers for using those current NBC (word used lightly) "sitcom" choices in EPISODES OF THE SITCOM.

Gary left $2000 on the table for DD3 and this time it did not matter while in a different scenario being in 2nd instead of 3rd could have made a difference.

Sharon liked the DJ! round material and the guys could not keep up with her as her score steadily zoomed.

The FJ! category had me wishing for a lucky break such as matching Jacinda Ardern to NZ or naming Merkel while afraid of running into name the random country over multiple continents. The lucky break was there as it was more a population one and I could handle matching Michael & Shanon.

Still lots of TS clues though the clue count is up with 60/61 seen.

From yesterday's thread
Gary looks like a pretty good player. Looking for him to go on a run....
One game means almost nothing, anybody who passes through two tests and an audition can look good and win one game.

Need to come up with a term for when a poster jinxes the new champ.

I got FJ right. 500M is more than the US has as far as I know, or most of Europe. That takes me to Asia, and I know China isn't a Democratic country. Not sure if India is, but I go with that since I know they are also very high up in population.

Guilty as charged. Sorry, Gary. In my defense, he did look pretty solid yesterday.

It is finished: http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6610

Watching and listening to all of "DEE" $2000 comes across better than reading about it.

Hope the family of the deceased MTP guy are not watching today. :(

A country with a whole lot of people (more than the USA) that is a democracy. That is a pretty short list. Russia was a really bad guess, especially considering he was born there.

I used to think "Dr. Dunkenstein" for Darrell Griffith one of the dumber sports nicknames (note I don't say dumbest; that would be hyperbolic) but I see now it was actually a play on "Dr.Funkenstein", so not so dumb after all. It just goes to show you.

Coryat $36,400 (43R, 0W)
DD 3/3
FJ

So much for Greg, I had high hopes after yesterday.

It was nice to see a FJ in something other than an entertainment category, even if it wasn't exactly the most challenging one of all time...

When it's basically a geography/population clue, and I get right...it's pretty easy. I knew China and India were #1 and #2, respectively. China gets nixed for not being a democracy, and I'm going with India.

I am absolutely, positively mortified that I didn't have a 100% solid hold on the #3 country in population, especially given current events, but I probably would have guessed it anyway. The number in the clue meant nothing to me, other than "really big" - I knew China was over a billion, and the US was in the hundred millions, but 2014 means not the US. (Well, that and Alex explicitly stating one of the J! category rules - WORLD means "not USA", just like EUROPEAN means "not Great Britain".)

I said "drill bit" for the drill press - damn the Forrest Jump and the Holtzhauer Hunting. Was there a drill bit in that picture? Seems a little ambiguous, but I'm negging myself.

"George Washington" + painting title with a verb shouldn't be a middle row clue. *sigh*

This show seemed much easier than the last two. Maybe I've acclimated to the regular games from the college tourney....

I'd agree with you, but both clues were triple-stumpers. So maybe MTM's heyday is over and her position in the bottom row is just the last stop on the way to dropping off the board completely. Superstore, of course, won't be remembered once it's gone. But for the next 45 seconds or so, it's not too unreasonable to ask about.
