"Boo hiss" doesn't seem to function as a rebuke to the contestant. It's more like commiseration the way Trebek uses it, a way of saying "tough luck there".

Evangelicalism's not a bad guess. But with the clue specifically tied to a 1919 meeting that "has been called the birth of this -ism", I assume it wouldn't pass muster. You never know, though. Might require a little research to see if anyone traces the birth of Evangelicalism back to that moment.

On another note for that clue, it irks me when they use the term "Protestants" to refer to a group of Anabaptists. I know it's common to apply the term "protestant" to any western Christian movement that isn't Roman Catholic. It just irks me.

As long as I've been alive, it seems that two movies are shown on network TV every blessed year, right around Passover/Easter. One is The Wizard of Oz and the other is The Ten Commandments. Even people who weren't born until decades after these films were produced have had every chance in the world to see them, so I sorta expected them to be imprinted on the brain of all three of these contestants. Guess not. I would have had this one completely written before the think music started if it didn't take so long to write the clue.

Hmmm...I seem to recall the Wizard of Oz showing up on CBS right after Thanksgiving every year when I was a tyke. I was enraptured by it.

I have been meaning to watch The Ten Commandments for ages - I just feel like it's something that I should watch. But I just haven't gotten around to it. Meant to set the DVR, but with the stress of world events, just never did. But as far as Wizard of Oz - that was my childhood "sick" movie. I'd sit on the sectional, glassy-eyed from Dimetapp, and watch Dorthy get sucked up. I hadn't watched it for years, but caught it a couple of years ago, and 90% of the black-and-white part I didn't remember, like the Wicked Witch who got bitten by Toto in the B&W world, and the fortune teller. Maybe my mom fast-forwarded the VCR through the dull parts?

Either way, Ben-Hur and Spartacus are reasonable guesses with slaves appearing in both films. I spent 20 seconds thinking "That damn Easter movie", then quickly moved from Moses to the title.

Couldn't pull Howard Hughes from TWA, but did pull Leo DeCaprio from the movie "The Aviator". I said Protestantism for Fundamentalism - read the year!

I accidentally called the "regent" the dauphin. My opponents would love me for giving them the correct response to the bottom row clue in advance.

As for MLB stats, I've been trying to shoehorn this into a FJ! clue, but it might fit well in a slightly modified MLB CAREER STATISTICS category, perhaps as a DD for some extra time to think:

I remember one day years ago during Easter/Passover week, when TCM offered The Ten Commandments, a couple of other OT-themed epics, then capped it off with "Harvey" and "Night of the Lepus".
